Hospital

After all, it’s a formal hospital, and the doctors and nurses are quite experienced. Shen Shuci was directly taken to the ward, where the doctor hurriedly conducted some examinations, and the nurse comforted her on the side.

Shen Shuci was already 37 weeks pregnant, so even if she delivered at this time, it wouldn’t be considered premature.

However, aside from some normal late-stage pregnancy symptoms, there were no signs of labor, and the doctor hadn’t recommended hospitalization for delivery yet. She was planning to wait for Huo Qinqi to return before getting admitted.

This sudden onset of labor pains caught everyone off guard.

”Where are the family members of the pregnant woman?” The doctor asked after the examination, turning to find someone.

Huo Ran stood at the entrance of the ward, completely stunned.

He didn’t even know where he was or what he should do at that moment.

When the doctor called for the family, he was still confused thinking: whose name is ’family member’?

”The pregnant woman’s family!” The doctor was also a bit anxious, raising his voice.

”I... I’m here!” Huo Ran stiffly walked over.

”Is she yours?”

”I... my sister-in-law.” Huo Ran was thoroughly scared and stuttered.

”The pregnant woman is showing signs of labor. Quickly notify her family and go complete her hospitalization procedures...” The doctor told him many things, but Huo Ran didn’t remember much.

He only remembered that she was going to give birth!

Going to... give birth?

So suddenly?

What should he do? What does he need to do?

Huo Ran, after all, was young and hadn’t experienced anything like this, so he was really scared stiff, until the phone vibrated again, and he realized Tang Wan had already called him five or six times.

Once Tang Wan arrived, the situation finally stabilized.

Huo Ran went to complete the hospitalization procedures, while Tang Wan stayed with Shen Shuci and also informed the Huo Family.

Huo Zheng and Liang Yun worked in different organizations. Liang Yun had just finished a meeting and was planning to ask Shen Shuci if she got home safely but was surprised to receive a call from Tang Wan.

Upon hearing that Shen Shuci was about to give birth, she hurriedly got someone to help her take leave and rushed to the hospital, while Huo Zheng’s phone was off during the meeting, making him unreachable for a while.

...

Shen Shuci indeed was going into labor, but she had just started having contractions, with irregular frequency and a little spotting, so her current condition wasn’t yet ready for the delivery room, and she had to stay in the ward for now.

This really terrified Huo Ran.

What’s going on?

If it hurts, shouldn’t she be taken in to give birth? Why wait? What are they waiting for?

He stood leaning against the wall, only occasionally moving mechanically to help whenever Tang Wan asked, and otherwise felt completely rigid, with a foggy head.

The person about to give birth was relatively calm, yet he was sweating all over from fear.

Shen Shuci was also a bit uneasy at heart, as it was her first time too. But being in the hospital with professional doctors and nurses, and Tang Wan accompanying her, she felt relatively reassured.

But it was You Hongxian who was completely frightened at this time.

He even asked someone to inquire about Shen Shuci’s situation. It was said she was really going into labor, which startled him into a cold sweat.

Especially his assistant beside him, who kept shrinking in fear, as if he had somehow caused this sudden situation by hitting or doing something to Shen Shuci.

”Sir, about Mrs. Huo, you really...”

”Say one more word, and you can get out, no need to come to work tomorrow!” He roared, his face contorted, and his voice fierce.

The assistant trembled like a leaf, and how could You Hongxian not be uneasy? After all, he did pull Shen Shuci once.

”Sir, then what do we do now...” The assistant pressed his lips tightly, thinking that if they had nothing to do with it, then what were they waiting around for?

You Hongxian kept silent, pressing his own lips tightly.

He had always been observing from the shadows. At this moment, it was still morning, and many people were coming in for consultations and check-ups, bustling around the hospital, leaving them unnoticed.

Soon, Liang Yun arrived, followed by the Shen Family elders.

You Hongxian wanted to find Mr. Shen, but in such a situation, he didn’t dare show up, plus with Shen Shuci like this, she definitely had no time to deal with him.
