Besides, if her mother’s birthday banquet was going to be held on a grand scale, she would definitely have to show up, and then the entire Beijing circle would know her.

Her identity couldn’t be hidden; going out with Jiang Chengsi would definitely be exposed too.

Rather than sneaking around afterward, it was better to take the initiative.

”You want me to go to Auntie’s birthday banquet?” Jiang Chengsi had always wanted to meet the Si Family, as her boyfriend.

It was just that meeting the parents couldn’t be something he pushed for alone, or force Si Qingxiao into, nagging her to take him home. Dating was supposed to be happy; if things turned unpleasant because he insisted on meeting her parents, it wouldn’t be any fun.

Si Qingxiao nodded. ”As my boyfriend.”

”You’ve really thought it through?”

This wasn’t just meeting the parents; it was equivalent to announcing them in public.

”I’m very clear about it. It still depends on whether you’re willing.”

”I’m fine with it.”

When Jiang Chengsi heard that Si Yushan actually liked Xie Duo, he got a bit anxious on the spot.

He felt he wasn’t bad, but he had to admit that in terms of career achievements and steady capability, he really couldn’t compare to Xie Duo.

After chatting a bit more with him, Si Qingxiao opened the door of the studio to go out, and the moment she opened it she saw Si Yushan standing there, which gave her quite a fright.

”Da... Dad? When did you start standing out here?”

”Just got here. I wanted to talk to you about something.” From the look of him, it didn’t seem like Si Yushan had overheard anything. He simply lifted his feet and walked into her studio, sizing up some of the half-finished clothes inside.

”What do you want to talk to me about?” Si Qingxiao immediately cleared a chair for him to sit down.

Usually, when she was in here sewing clothes, it was inevitably a bit messy.

”In a few days it’ll be your mother’s birthday, right? You’ve been seeing your boyfriend for a while now. If you feel the time is right, bring him for your mom and me to meet. The birthday banquet is one thing; we can have a private meal.”

Si Yushan figured that if the boy wasn’t from the circle, he probably wouldn’t be used to such a large occasion as a banquet, and he didn’t want to put too much pressure on the young man.

So he only mentioned a private meal, which was actually quite considerate.

Si Qingxiao simply nodded in response.

”No rush. Talk it over with the boy. He doesn’t need to bring any gifts; just a simple meal is fine. Actually, although your mom and I haven’t interfered much in your relationship, we still want to see what kind of person he is. We’re definitely better judges of character than you are. If you don’t want to eat at our place, I can book a restaurant outside.”

Si Yushan knew very well in his heart that marrying his daughter would really take courage. He was also afraid that if he brought the guy directly to the Si Family home, he’d scare him off.

”I know, I’ll talk to him about it.” Her father’s idea coincided with her own, so Si Qingxiao naturally agreed with a smile.

Seeing her attitude, Si Yushan knew that this matter was almost settled; he would probably get to see that wild boy soon.

He really did want to see what kind of person could make his daughter fall for him.

Just as he was about to leave and get back to work, out of the corner of his eye he caught sight of a men’s shirt on a mannequin. He immediately walked over.

”So this is what you’ve been busy with lately, girl? I already told you, just make something for your mom for her birthday. Why are you making something for me too!”

”This style is a bit trendy. At my age, I’m afraid it might not be appropriate on me.”

”But I really like the fabric and color.”

...

While Si Qingxiao was still stunned, Si Yushan had already stripped the shirt off the mannequin and pulled it over his own body. ”You know, it actually fits pretty well.”

”Dad, Dad... this is...” Si Qingxiao’s expression was awkward.

”I’m going to show this to your Uncle Yuan, let him have a look too.”

”Dad, that’s not...” Before Si Qingxiao could stop him again, Si Yushan had already worn the shirt out.

On Jiang Chengsi’s side, he was still immersed in the joy and nervousness of getting to meet the parents when his phone vibrated with a message from Si Qingxiao:

[The shirt I made for you has been taken a fancy to by my dad, and he wore it away.]
