Chapter 1223: Chapter 714: Missing Each Other Right After Parting, Some Rejoice While Others Lose Their Minds (Part 2)”Wow——” The crying grew more intense, causing Jiang Zhenhuan to feel a pounding in his head.

Even the elderly lady, who had already fallen asleep, stirred from the commotion and went to check in her pajamas, turning the entire Jiang Family upside down.

Similarly chaotic was the situation with Qi Zeyan on his end.

...

He had planned to give away his first time tonight. Ruan Mengxi was secretly a bit expectant as well. After dinner, they returned to the room and watched TV for a while.

With both harboring their own thoughts, the atmosphere was already a bit stiff. It was difficult to get close, but with some expectation in their hearts, both of them were very tense.

Being rookies, they finally managed to find a little direction, the lights were off, and clothes were half-off...

Jiang Chengsi’s call came.

”Answer, just take it.” Ruan Mengxi, being rich in theory but a novice in practice, felt a bit nervous despite her anticipation, and urged him to answer when the phone rang.

Qi Zeyan took a deep breath, glanced at the caller ID, and cursed internally:

Jiang Xiaosi, you better have something important!

Turns out the other party was just calling back out of ”courtesy” because he had called him in the afternoon!

This made him furious.

I called you in the afternoon, and it’s late now, why bother with this nonsense call?

Besides, since when have you been so polite and careful?

The atmosphere was broken, and Qi Zeyan and Ruan Mengxi looked at each other awkwardly.

”So...,” Qi Zeyan coughed, ”shall we continue?”

”I’ll go take a shower first.” Ruan Mengxi buttoned her clothes and went into the bathroom.

That night, the two lay on the bed, just chatting under the covers. Qi Zeyan almost cursed that person to death in his mind:

Dumb Jiang Xiaosi, you deserve to be single for life.

Valentine’s Day is not a legal holiday, and with the Lantern Festival coming up in a few days, the Qi Family and Ruan Family planned to celebrate together and discuss their child’s engagement.

So the trip Qi Zeyan and Ruan Mengxi took was just a two-day, one-night getaway, and they returned to the capital the next day.

The Qi Family was preparing for the whole family to go to Pingjiang for the festival; it was their first visit, and they couldn’t be disrespectful. Discussing engagements was similar to proposing, and according to local customs in Pingjiang, the groom’s side needed to prepare gifts of gold and such. Moreover, with the Lantern Festival coinciding, these gifts couldn’t be modest.

After returning to the capital, Qi Zeyan wouldn’t have the chance to have such a private space with Ruan Mengxi.

He even approached Jiang Chengsi about it, calling him dim-witted and unreliable.

”It was only around eight in the evening. How was I supposed to know you’d want to... get into that so early?” If Jiang Chengsi had known, he wouldn’t have been so clueless.

”The problem is with you. I called you in the afternoon, and your phone was off. It took three or four hours for you to call me back.”

”But even if I interrupted, you could have continued, right?”

”...”

”Qiqi, could it be that you’re... not capable?”

”Get lost——”

Qi Zeyan wished he could smack the idiot in front of him, feeling that he had recently become more rebellious and outrageous.

And Jiang Chengsi’s change did not go unnoticed by the Jiang Family. When the elderly lady asked him about it, he didn’t say much.

He had confessed, but the other party hadn’t agreed yet.

Since the last time they parted, she had said she would tell him about herself next time and let him take her home, so Jiang Chengsi asked her three times a day if they could meet up.

Early in the morning, he’d say good morning and ask if she wanted to have breakfast together.

She’s only seen boys ask girls out for lunch or dinner, never so early in the morning.

Two days later, it was the Lantern Festival. The elderly lady was sitting with Fan Mingyu, holding a small notebook, seemingly discussing gift-giving matters.

During festive occasions, many people give them gifts. As a return gesture, they needed to reciprocate, especially since Jiang Yanting and Jiang Jinsang were both married. They needed to give something to the in-laws, so the two made notes to avoid forgetting.

Jiang Chengsi was sitting on a single sofa, sending a message to ”Miss Xiao.”

[There’s a lantern exhibition in Hexi on the night of the Lantern Festival. Do you want to see it?]
