Pampered by Short-Lived Bigshot

In his mind, if there was really a chance to choose a son-in-law from the Jiang Family, it seemed Jiang Chengsi wouldn’t be the choice. Jiang Yanting, Jiang Shiyi, or Jiang Jinsang, all were better than him.

”Why? You don’t think he’s suitable?” You Yunzhi laughed, ”Actually, the kid is good, although he’s opened some nightlife venues, he hasn’t done anything scandalous, his character isn’t bad, and he’s handsome too.”

”Handsome?” he chuckled softly, ”Your taste is really getting worse and worse.”

”Yeah, if my taste was so good, how did you trick me back then?”

”Yunzhi!” he coughed lightly, glanced at the daughter on the side, presumably not wanting to lose face in front of her.

Turns out, she was staring blankly at her phone, not listening to their conversation at all.

He wanted to hire an assistant, but all the applicants were pretty girls, calling it recruitment, but it was more like a blind date.

**

Such rumors, Jiang Chengsi had also heard of them, but it didn’t affect him at all. Whether they were pretty or gorgeous, gentle or attentive, had nothing to do with him.

He was looking for an assistant, not a wife. If they wanted to apply, let them apply. If they didn’t meet the conditions, they’d be sent away, no negotiation necessary.

Qi Zeyan even deliberately called to tease him about it.

”Heard you are selecting a concubine.”

”Selecting what concubine.”

”It’s all over Beijing now, you’ve really stirred things up just by hiring an assistant.”

”Not as sensational as your relationships.”

Zeyan was choked for a moment, ”Why don’t you just set a condition and only hire men.”

”Then they’d say I’m gay.”

”...”

”I don’t care about gender, as long as they’re capable. I’m hiring an assistant to lighten your load, ultimately. If you can handle me asking Xiaoruan to run errands every night, I don’t mind.”

”Then you’d better hire a couple of efficient ones.” Zeyan stopped teasing him, ”Are you free tonight? I happen to be free, want to grab a drink together?”

”No, I’m not free.”

Zeyan frowned, ”Are you dating someone or not?”

”No.”

”Then what are you up to?”

”At a friend’s repair shop, modifying a motorcycle.”

”Alright, be busy then.” The repair shop smells like metal and oil, easily dirtying shoes, so Zeyan doesn’t head over casually.

After hanging up, Jiang Chengsi held a wrench, tightening the last component. The repair shop owner handed him a glass of water, ”Fourth brother, have some water.”

”Thanks.” Jiang Chengsi put down the wrench, removed his gloves, and eyed the bike.

”This bike isn’t for yourself, right?” The owner looked at the bike, ”This model doesn’t suit you; who are you modifying it for? A girl?”

The repair shop’s owner had sharp eyes. The whole body of the bike was lowered, not Chengsi’s riding habit, and he had added quite a few safety features.

In the past, he modified bikes with an emphasis on coolness and speed. Safety was important, but not as fussily as this time.

Drinking the water, Jiang Chengsi just raised an eyebrow, watching him silently. When the owner was about to get on the bike to try it, Chengsi kicked it, ”What are you doing?”

”I’m helping you test ride it.”

”Get lost, I don’t need you to test it.”

”Don’t be so heartless.”

”Tallied up the bill.” Jiang Chengsi said as he got on the bike to give it a trial. This height and bike proportion seem more suitable for her.

He had been looking through his garage for a while, and none of the motorcycles were suitable for her.

Since she wants to learn, it’s important the bike is handy. As none from their family suit her, it’s best to modify one for her.

”We’re friends, no need.” The owner laughed; they were familiar, Chengsi had always supported his business, he’s generous, and gifting a few bikes wouldn’t be a big deal.

”Come on, no need to be polite, running a business isn’t easy for you.”

”All right, I won’t be polite then.” The owner didn’t let the staff get involved, instead roughly calculating himself and casually quoted a price, definitely below cost.

”Oh, right, I also need a pair of women’s gloves and a helmet. You have them here, right?”

The owner, holding the calculator, seemed a bit dazed:

Is it certain you need to buy women’s motorcycle gear, Fourth Master?

Are you sure you’re not in a relationship?

”Why are you daydreaming? Do you have them or not?”

”We do, but there are many styles and colors. You’ll need to come with me to choose.”
