Chapter 1079: Chapter 637: Relationship Exposed: We’re Not Dating, I’m Pursuing Her (Part 3)He was already laying his cards on the table with the reporters, or more precisely, using the camera to declare to everyone, bringing Ruan Mengxi under his protection.

Many somewhat famous people remain tight-lipped about their relationships, which indirectly leads to their partners being ridiculed and slandered, enduring baseless accusations.

Very few like Qi Zeyan are so candid and direct.

He clearly told everyone:

I like her, and nobody is allowed to harm her or her family.

Such openness instantly won him the favor of many. After all, relationships are private matters, and he had no obligation to share them with everyone.

Ruan Mengxi sat in the car, watching the person standing in front of it, shielding her single-handedly against a ”thousand enemies,” and couldn’t help but be moved.

Seeing Qi Zeyan’s openness, a reporter boldly asked:

”Young Master Qi, so what’s your relationship with Miss Ruan and Boss Yun?”

Everyone was too curious about their relationship.

Qi Zeyan didn’t directly answer the question but responded with a rather poetic line:

”I like her, and she is free.”

The two hadn’t clearly defined their romantic relationship, and whatever Ruan Mengxi wanted to do was her freedom.

The answer was elegant and beautiful.

Some reporters, rare to catch the person involved, wanted to dig up some so-called ”shocking news,” and nervously asked, ”If...if Miss Ruan is two-timing, what do you think?”

Qi Zeyan replied with a cold smile:

”Not to mention this is just a hypothesis, even if it’s true, she’s single, with several people pursuing her. You compare goods before buying, let alone choosing a boyfriend.”

”Moreover, you want me to judge a two-timing situation...”

”Since she is someone I like, naturally, she is the best in my mind.”

”No one should underestimate the person they truly like.”

The implication was a testament to Ruan Mengxi’s upright character.

If someone is so likable, one shouldn’t easily doubt her character or question one’s judgment.

It’s undeniable that all of Qi Zeyan’s responses were in defense of Ruan Mengxi.

Ruan Daqiang stood not far away; although he didn’t want to expose family matters or his daughter’s private issues to the public, at this point, Qi Zeyan’s comprehensive defense was reasonable enough.

At the very least, he was open and direct, protected his daughter, and took the responsibility upon himself.

Barely counts as a man.

But just then, a reporter quietly asked:

”So...did you buy the apartment Miss Ruan is currently living in?”

If it was Qi Zeyan’s property and Ruan Mengxi hadn’t accepted his pursuit, yet lived in the apartment he bought, her character might be questionable.

Anyway, these reporters will use every trick to get something out of you.

Qi Zeyan was about to speak when he heard a deep, resonant voice:

”I’ll answer this question!”

Ruan Mengxi tilted her head to see her father appear.

The reporters didn’t recognize Ruan Daqiang, but photos of him meeting Qi Zeyan had circulated online; without seeing his face, they could guess from his figure.

”Uncle, I’ll handle this.” Qi Zeyan, who was just toughly dealing with the reporter, suddenly became meek.

Leaving the journalist dumbfounded again.

Young Master Qi, are you doing a face-changing act from Sichuan opera?

Ruan Daqiang glanced at him, ”I am still your elder, how can there be an incident where I hide behind the younger generation.”

He wasn’t the type to coward away when things happened.

Moreover, letting a mere guy defend his daughter? It didn’t sit well with him.

His daughter would naturally be protected by him as the father, why trouble an ”outsider.”

For the first time, Qi Zeyan felt what it’s like to have a father-in-law for protection.

He sized up the person beside him, and the image of Ruan Daqiang in his mind at that moment...

Tall and mighty.
