Capítulo 1059: Chapter 628: Courting Favor with the Future Father-in-law? Blessings and Misfortunes in an Instant (Fourth Update)

Qi Zeyan originally wanted to please Ruan Mengxi’s parents, so he naturally wouldn’t miss the opportunity to spend time with them.

“Then I won’t be shy. Xiaoqi, sit down, have some tea and snacks,” Ruan’s mom said, pulling Ruan Mengxi outside.

Along the way, she kept praising Qi Zeyan, saying this boss is really good.

“He takes care of you even when you’re on leave, and he looked after you before too. He’s way more handsome than those on TV.”

The Ruan parents had a great impression of Qi Zeyan, thanks to Ruan Mengxi’s relentless praise in front of them in the past.

Saying he blocked drinks for her and gave her a raise.

Back then, she liked Qi Zeyan and had to pave the way for their future, so she praised him intensely.

So Qi Zeyan’s status in her parents’ hearts was different from the start.

But at this moment, she was scared out of her wits, hoping there wouldn’t be any issues between him and her dad.

The whole way, she felt anxious and uneasy.

“…Xixi? Xixi!”

“Huh? Mom.”

“I’m talking to you, why are you daydreaming?”

“I just suddenly thought about work.”

“I’m asking you, how is that young man you met today? Is he okay?” Ruan’s mom asked about the blind date, then turned to Qi Zeyan, “Your boss, he’s young too, has he got a partner?”

“No.”

“With such good conditions and a good family background, he surely must be picky. In such a big business family, there’s bound to be scheming, we’re just ordinary people, it’s enough to maintain a good relationship with this kind of boss, don’t offend him.”

Ruan Mengxi nodded in agreement.

“I find him nice, not pretentious at all, you should cherish having such a boss.”

Ruan Mengxi smirked sheepishly, it’s all just an act.

“I’ve followed his news before, him and some guy from the Jiang Family, aren’t they all men? What’s their relationship?”

Ruan Mengxi was amused, “Mom, since when did you become so gossipy?”

“It’s often in entertainment news, I just casually asked, it’s his personal choice, I wouldn’t discriminate against him,” Ruan’s mom laughed.

“No, those are all fake, he and Fourth Master have no relationship, they’re just good friends, those are all fabricated by reporters.”

“It sounded so convincing in the reports…”

Ruan Mengxi coughed lightly, you haven’t seen how flamboyant he was when bullying your daughter before, how could he possibly like men.

**

At this moment in the apartment, there were only Qi Zeyan and Ruan Daqiang.

The Northern heater was too hot, Ruan Daqiang, after a long car drive, felt overheated, removed his jacket and sweater, slightly rolled up his sleeves, revealing his strong arms.

Qi Zeyan quietly observed him, honestly, one of his arms was twice as thick as his!

If he slapped him, it would be either death or injury.

“Xiaoqi, have some tea,” Ruan Daqiang quietly studied him, Qi Zeyan indeed was Ruan Mengxi’s boss, there’s no doubt about that, “I have to thank you for taking care of my daughter.”

“Uncle, you’re too kind.”

“Don’t just sit there, drink some tea, eat something, make yourself at home.”

Qi Zeyan gave a sheepish grin, I’ve been living here for quite a while, it’s pretty much like home.

“Our Xixi can be somewhat careless sometimes, she might not be thorough, I hope you look after and forgive her,” Ruan Daqiang was straightforward, even though he’s the boss, he didn’t doubt too much.

After all, where is there a private meeting with someone dressed in a small suit, wearing little leather shoes, and hair slicked back.

This isn’t a romantic date, it’s business negotiation.

“She’s alright, very serious at work.”

“You’ve exaggerated, I know my daughter,” Ruan Daqiang said modestly, but inside, he was pleased with the boss’s praise.

“Uncle, you have quite a physique… Have you trained?” Qi Zeyan probed.

“I practiced martial arts before, my body’s a bit out of shape now, can’t compare,” Ruan Daqiang laughed, “Gained weight after getting married, can’t compare to before.”

“It’s noticeable, you’re quite trained.”

“Not bad,” Ruan Daqiang said humbly.

…

After Ruan Mengxi and her mom returned, Qi Zeyan and Ruan Daqiang talked quite well.

One treated the other as the daughter’s boss and was very polite and complimentary; the other treated the other as a future father-in-law, humble and respectful.

Both were eager to please, naturally, they got along very well.
