Chapter 958: Chapter 572: Holding the Young Lady’s Hand and Calling Her Brother? (3rd Update)

Tang Wan hung up the phone and urged Jiang Jiu to drive faster.

“Speed limits in the city; can’t go any faster.” Jiang Jiu pushed his sunglasses up with his hand.

“Why isn’t Fourth Brother answering the phone?” Tang Wan wondered to herself. It seemed likely that the issues involving You Shenming and Xiang Xiaoyuan were related to this “Miss Xiao,” and she wanted to test her.

Afraid that Miss Xiao might leave impatiently, Tang Wan wanted Jiang Chengsi to help entertain her and keep her steady.

Everyone had eaten together before; they weren’t strangers.

Tang Wan made several phone calls in a row, but no one picked up.

“Fourth Master probably didn’t hear.” Jiang Jiu looked ahead and saw a traffic jam again, slightly frowning.

…

Meanwhile, in Tang Wan’s office, Jiang Chengsi’s phone was vibrating continuously, but he seemed oblivious, causing the person across from him to furrow their brow unconsciously.

“Fourth Master? Your phone is ringing.” She called softly twice, but there was no response.

Perhaps the phone’s frequent vibrations got on his nerves; he shifted uneasily and sneezed.

“Fourth Master?” She called softly again, observing him closely and realizing something was amiss.

She approached him, crouching down.

Getting closer, she noticed his breathing was heavy, as if he was sleeping uneasily.

Jiang Chengsi naturally had striking looks, unlike anyone in the Jiang Family, openly flamboyant and renowned as Beijing’s most famous playboy—charming but not vulgar, highly regarded in the capital.

He was very quiet at the moment, with an air of elegance between his brows.

Ordinarily, he shouldn’t be sleeping so deeply. She lowered her voice to call him again, and when he didn’t respond, she tentatively reached out to touch his forehead.

Despite it being morning, last night’s sudden rain made the air humid and hot, and the office’s air conditioning was set to just over twenty degrees. Yet, his forehead felt alarmingly hot.

Clearly, he was sick!

She frowned, just about to call Chen Zhi to get him some medication or something, but as she withdrew her fingers, he unexpectedly grabbed her.

She was wearing a cheongsam and high heels, and with his sudden pull, she nearly fell onto him.

“Fourth Master?” She frowned, trying to free her hand.

But his grip was strong, almost impossible to break free from.

His palm was scorching hot, feeling like it was burning her skin; her breathing quickened, feeling inexplicably uncomfortable. She had never been so intimately close to any man, feeling anxious and embarrassed, yet unable to break free.

Her face flushed red.

Meanwhile, Jiang Chengsi seemed oblivious, just gripping her tightly.

The result was…

Tang Wan arrived.

In her hurry, she didn’t bother knocking on her own office door; she pushed it open and saw Jiang Chengsi clutching the young woman’s hand as he leaned against the sofa.

Having worn a cheongsam, it somewhat restricted her movements, making it difficult to struggle forcefully.

Even Jiang Jiu, following closely behind Tang Wan, was a bit stunned seeing this scene.

What was going on?

What was Fourth Master doing!

Seeing Tang Wan arrive, the two maintained their stance; even someone as composed and graceful as “Miss Xiao” couldn’t help but feel somewhat embarrassed.

“Let go!” She tried to struggle, seemingly wanting to prove to Tang Wan that he was stubbornly gripping her.

Perhaps her movement was too vigorous this time; Jiang Chengsi dazedly opened his eyes, stared at her intently, and spoke:

“Brother, don’t go!”

!!!

What? Brother?

“Miss Xiao” was dumbfounded. It was one thing to mistake her identity, but he mistook her for a man?

Did she resemble his brother a lot, or was it that her wrist was as slender as his?

“Fourth Brother.” Tang Wan realized he had mistaken her identity, “‘Miss Xiao,’ I’m sorry…” She said as she immediately reached over, trying to separate them.

However, the harder Tang Wan pulled, the tighter Jiang Chengsi held on; eventually, Jiang Jiu intervened, forcibly separating them.

“I noticed his phone vibrating continuously, and after calling him a few times without response, I checked and discovered he was sick.” “Miss Xiao” rubbed her wrist, reddened from the grip, explaining to Tang Wan.

“I really apologize.” Tang Wan apologized to her.

How could he hold onto the young woman calling her brother?

“He seems to have a severe fever; we should take him to the hospital immediately.”
