Capítulo 885: Chapter 535: Wanwan’s Candid Words, Sharper Than Strong Liquor

Huo Qinqi and Shen Shuci’s engagement party was mixed with emotions; some were happy, others were sad. Huo Ran, with two dark circles under his eyes, didn’t dare go anywhere and stayed at home all day, playing with Huo Chichi and gaming. Jiang Chengsi was more composed and went back to the club for renovations after half a day’s rest.

A few days after the engagement, Jiang Jinsang used the excuse of going to the hospital to visit and took Old Master Shen to see several real estate properties.

“…I’m quite fond of the area near Hexi, it’s closer to Shuci, but there aren’t any malls nearby, which makes shopping inconvenient.” The old man, holding several property brochures, was indecisive.

“I suggest you live at Sheng Garden. It’s closer to Wanwan and me, there’s a hospital and schools nearby, and the current prices are reasonable,” Jiang Jinsang proposed.

Old Master Shen pursed his lips and suddenly looked at him, “The last time you helped me look at houses, why did you find such a makeshift excuse? Didn’t Wanwan question you?”

“No, she didn’t.”

“She didn’t see through such a lame excuse? Is this girl really going to be out of it for three years during pregnancy?”

Jiang Jinsang smiled and said nothing, finding the situation quite strange as well.

“You didn’t lie to her when you came out with me today, right?” Old Master Shen chuckled.

“I just said I was coming to the hospital. Her studio was busy today too, and Uncle Chen picked her up early in the morning. I had Jiang Jiu follow her the whole time.”

“She’s still taking work as her belly is getting bigger by the day?”

“No, she wrapped up a TV series earlier, and some work needed to be handed over now that it’s nearing completion.”

Jiang Jinsang was referring to the TV series “Feng Que,” which had been filming for over half a year and was about to finish. A TV station had purchased exclusive broadcast rights to make it a major starting show for the new year.

When they returned to the hospital, the old man, holding promotional material from each property, smiled broadly as he pushed open the ward door, “Old lady, I’ve checked out the properties Xiaowu chose…”

Jiang Jinsang closely followed behind, pausing at the door, his voice abruptly stopped with a slight frown. Looking past him, he saw that apart from Madam Shen…

Shen Shuci, who should have been at work, was also there!

“Shuci, why aren’t you at work and came to the hospital at this time?” The old man awkwardly smiled, concealing the promotional brochures behind him, signaling for Jiang Jinsang to take them. He immediately understood and quickly handed them to Jiang Cuo behind him.

Jiang Cuo, grasping a stack of brochures, was also a bit at a loss.

He rushed to hide them behind his back, feeling a bit like the act of trying to hide something was more obvious than the truth itself.

“The credential review personnel are coming this afternoon, and I need to entertain them, so the manager gave me two days off,” Shen Shuci explained, her gaze fixed on the actions of the three.

Shen Shuci was no fool. When buying a house was mentioned, she immediately thought of the commotion over the mix-up Jiang Jinsang caused a few days ago using the excuse of buying a marital home for the child. So…

It wasn’t Jiang Jinsang buying a house; it was her parents?

“Credential review, huh? You really should prepare well. Is there anything we need to pay special attention to?” Old Master Shen pretended as if nothing had happened.

Shen Shuci was straightforward, “What are you buying a house for?”

“Who said I’m buying a house, I…” The old man didn’t expect Shen Shuci to be there and couldn’t find a suitable reason at once.

However, the old lady let out a helpless smile, “The kids will know sooner or later, there’s nothing to hide. Your father and I are planning to settle back in the country and have been having Xiaowu scout for houses lately.”

“Such a big decision, why haven’t you told me?” Shen Shuci bit her lip, “Have you settled everything abroad?”

“Your brother-in-law helped us with a lot. We went back earlier to tidy up at home…”

“So during this time back, you haven’t rested well, and that’s why Dr. Zhou said you were overworked and not resting properly, all because of this?”
