Chapter 784: 478 Wanwan’s assists are the most earnest, tickling the heartPingjiang Suburb Courtyard

”Jasmine Tea okay?” The voice was soft and melodious, different from Tang Wan’s gentle softness, hers had more coquettish grievances. Shen Shuci sat to one side, her heart melting at the sound.

”Sure.” Tang Wan nodded.

With her back turned to the two of them, she prepared the tea in a lotus-pink cheongsam, slender and graceful, with broad shoulders and long legs. Wearing a cheongsam was a matter of elegance; if one’s manners were not beautiful, it would all be ruined.

Yet her every move was full of charm.

Soon, two white porcelain floral cups were placed in front of them, tiny blossoms of jasmine spread out upon the water, enchanting and gentle.

It was Shen Shuci’s first visit, and seeing the brass incense burner on the blackwood long table, all gold-plated, and various small decorations adorned with carvings of dragons and phoenixes—each exquisitely made—gave her the impression that her own life was somewhat rough.

”It seems like more than a year since I last saw you. I thought you had lost interest in Cyan Feather’s jewelry, that I’d lost a regular customer. I was upset for quite a while,” said Tang Wan as she held her porcelain cup of tea.

”Weren’t you relieved?” The lady sat opposite the two of them. ”I must be the pickiest of all your clients, right?”

”Without your pickiness, there might not be the ’me’ of today,” Tang Wan said with a smile.

”My home isn’t in Pingjiang; I just come to stay for a bit from time to time. I heard you got a big TV production, probably too busy to care for small fry like me, so I didn’t bother you.”

After last year’s affair with the Tang Family shook the whole city, and later with Elder Tang going to Beijing for surgery, she probably didn’t want to burden her with more work.

”My studio has now moved to Beijing, but if you need, you can take photos of the designs and I can make them and mail them to you.”

After Tang Wan finished speaking, the lady smiled, ”Actually, my family is also in Beijing. With your words, if I need anything in the future, I’ll make sure not to stand on ceremony.”

”Okay.” Tang Wan could tell from the way she spoke, with a certain accent, that she wasn’t from Pingjiang. But she hadn’t expected her to be from Beijing.

Although a regular customer, she seldom revealed personal information, and given their straightforward business relationship, Tang Wan didn’t pry.

”Let’s go take a look at the clothes.”

With that, Tang Wan and Shen Shuci followed her upstairs to what was akin to a large wardrobe room. Apart from cheongsams, there were various types of traditional Hanfu garments. On one shelf, various Cyan Feather hairpins and accessories were displayed, dazzling to the eye.

”That’s my hobby; I buy lots of clothes I never wear. If you guys like any of them, feel free to try them on. If you like what you wear, I’ll gift it to you,” she said as she opened another compartment, revealing even more splendid and finely crafted clothes.

Bridal studios mostly offer similar Xiuhe dresses, but as a collector, she had more styles and patterns.

If Tang Wan hadn’t been truly tempted, she wouldn’t have troubled the collector.

”Why did you buy so many Xiuhe dresses?” Tang Wan inquired, knowing her to be unmarried, to her knowledge.

”Nowadays, Xiuhe dresses mostly evolve from Ming Dynasty Hanfu; they’re all hand-embroidered, incredibly delicate. I think they’re beautiful, so I buy them,” she said while taking out a few dresses for Tang Wan to try on.

She had a good eye; gauging Tang Wan’s figure, she selected a few gowns that looked brilliant when worn.

But since Tang Wan was ultimately pregnant, she was concerned about tiring her out, and after trying on a few dresses, suggested she sit down and rest for a while.

”Auntie, which set do you think looks better?” Tang Wan was dazzled and found each piece to be beautiful.

”I like the second set,” said Shen Shuci, who was quite decisive.

”Really?” Tang Wan rested her chin in her hand, surveying the room full of clothes.

”Miss Shen, would you like to try on some clothes?” She noticed Shen Shuci had been eyeing a cheongsam.

”No need,” Shen Shuci hurriedly waved her hand. She preferred simple and neat attire, rarely even wearing skirts, let alone cheongsams. They weren’t her style.

”Since Teacher Tang is resting, trying one on wouldn’t hurt. I’ll pick a couple of dresses for you.”

”Go ahead and try them.”
