Chapter 777: 474 Proposing Marriage: Settling Things with the Father-in-law, is the Child the Fifth Master’s Lucky Star? (3 more Chapters)Huo Qinqi, though he spent a long time in Shen Shuci’s room last night, couldn’t really do anything, considering this was the Jiang Family home, where the elderly had light sleep. If he actually woke up old Mr. Shen, he feared that the latter might jump out of bed and kick him out.

The next morning,

Huo Ran had been hyping up the group chat until past midnight and was dragged out of his covers by Huo Qinqi before dawn.

Under the pretense of ”morning exercise”.

In reality, he was going to buy breakfast for the elder Shen couple. Shen Zhixian would usually wake up early to make breakfast, but since Huo Qinqi was there, he was excused from the task.

Huo Ran’s head spun as he staggered downstairs, nearly taking a tumble, listlessly following behind him, puffing breaths into the chilly air, lurching along.

Huo Qinqi thought his physical condition was too weak, making him get up every day. Huo Ran used to like sleeping naked, but since Huo Qinqi would barge in early in the morning, it sent him scurrying in panic. Even though they were both men, it was quite embarrassing.

Now, he wrapped himself up tightly when sleeping.

”If you think morning exercise is good for the body, why don’t you get your sister-in-law up to exercise, why drag me into it?”

”Were you up late again last night?” Huo Qinqi scrutinized him.

”No, no.” Huo Ran gave him a dopey smile.

...

Meanwhile, in Pingjiang, dawn was just breaking.

Today, they were going to the Jiang Family to propose. Fan Mingyu woke up very early and knocked on Jiang Jinsang’s door, asking him to get ready, only to find the room empty.

”What is this child doing so early in the morning?” she muttered to herself.

”Maybe he was too nervous to sleep and went out to exercise,” Jiang Zhenhuan said with a smile. Jiang Jinsang had been adamant about his daily fitness routine ever since his surgery, and today, he had donned a new suit, looking neat and clean.

But Jiang Jinsang had gotten up early not to exercise but to take a taxi to the cemetery.

Pine waves rustled, and a layer of white mist began to form around, with intermittent chirping of insects and birds, casting a chill over the graveyard.

From a distance, he could barely make out a figure, shrouded in the light fog, the black silhouette stark in its solitary desolation.

Tang Yunxian had also heard footsteps and turned to look, showing slight surprise upon seeing Jiang Jinsang.

Today was supposed to be a Good Day and not a time to come here, but at dinner yesterday, old Master Tang had suddenly reminisced, ”If Wanwan’s mother could see her getting married, how wonderful would that have been.”

Which triggered his emotions, so he decided to visit her first thing in the morning.

”I chatted with Wanwan yesterday, and she mentioned a few things. I thought she wished to share this news with Aunt, so I came by myself,” Jiang Jinsang explained.

”Uh-huh.” Tang Yunxian didn’t reply, a strange feeling in his heart.

Regardless of Jiang Jinsang’s usual demeanor, having this sentiment meant something different to him.

The two lingered in the graveyard for over ten minutes before Tang Yunxian patted his shoulder. ”Let’s go, let’s head back. Haven’t had breakfast yet, have you?”

”Not yet, I was about to return to the hotel.”

”How did you get here?”

”By taxi.”

”I’ll drive you, and we can grab some authentic Pingjiang morning tea.”

Jiang Jinsang rarely had such alone time with Tang Yunxian. He thought the atmosphere would be awkward and considered whether to start a conversation. But before he could, Tang Yunxian spoke up first, ”Wanwan resembles her mother a lot, doesn’t she?”

”Yes,” Jiang Jinsang nodded in response.

”I liked her the moment I first saw her, but you know about the Shen Family, Dad is famously strict. At the time, I wasn’t sure if she had any feelings for me, I was afraid I might scare her off if I acted rashly, so I had to take it slow...” Tang Yunxian was driving, reminiscing about the past, and his entire demeanor softened.

”The Shen Family protected her well. She didn’t have any guard up against me, and even Mom and Dad didn’t notice that I had an agenda.”

”They had a particularly good impression of me. I said we were just friends, and they believed it until everything was exposed...”

”The moment Dad saw me visiting their house, it was like he was ready to chase me with a broom.”

Jiang Jinsang smiled without saying a word.
