The hospital was small, and Liang Han made it difficult for the young lady taking his samples, trying to inconvenience her, but he ended up embarrassing himself. News of the incident quickly spread throughout the hospital.

Zhou Zhongqing left the operating room after performing a major surgery, explaining the situation to the family and leaving the suturing to his assistant as he hurriedly departed.

Everyone was initially worried that Tang Wan’s situation would affect the surgery, but a professional doctor wouldn’t make jokes with a patient’s life.

After he left, the results from the toxicology center, hospital, and forensic police department were all available; Tang Wan was safe and sound, and he heaved a sigh of relief.

After changing his clothes and preparing to visit Tang Wan, Zhou Zhongqing checked his phone and saw a message from Jiang Jinsang:

[Zhou Uncle, the check was fine. Discharge process is done and I’m already home.]

That she was safe was all that mattered.

Zhou Zhongqing returned to his office, rubbed his legs—standing for long surgeries had worsened his varicose veins. His assistant poured him some water and gossiped about Liang Han’s incident.

While talking on the phone with Tang Wan, Zhou Zhongqing couldn’t help but remark,

“…He had it coming. Someone needed to deal with that kid. He should have cooperated quietly during the test with the police present. Now look what happened—he had his bare butt seen by everyone.”

“Pfft—” Tang Wan couldn’t hold back her laughter.

This drew frequent glances from the Jiang family, as they seldom saw her lose her composure like this.

“I’ve met that young lady before, and she’s quite amiable; who knew she was tough? I heard that when he stripped, she just did her job and didn’t even glance at him a second time.”

“The disdain in her eyes was something else.”

“It’s said that after that, he quieted down in the hospital room. Maybe he went into seclusion.”

…

Tang Wan struggled to hold back her laughter.

Liang Han was the kind of person who always needed to save face. Having visited the Jiang Mansion a few times, he had a strong sense of pride, and the young lady in charge of the toxicology was also young.

Imagine, he stripped and still was disdained; he must’ve wanted to shut himself away.

Jiang Mansion

By then, everyone had returned home, even Jiang Chengsi, who had come from the traffic department after running a red light and undergoing ideological education, paying a fine. He was then scolded by his grandmother.

He immediately sought help from his older brother, Jiang Shiyi, who just looked at him plainly, “I was driving too fast and ran a red light, which was indeed dangerous.”

“See, even your brother said so, and it didn’t persuade you,” his grandmother was upset, also worried about his safety.

“Did you try to stop me?” Jiang Chengsi was confused.

Jiang Shiyi replied, “I did, but maybe the car was too fast and the wind too loud, so you didn’t hear me.”

His tone was extremely serious, as if it mattered greatly.

“…”

Oh, come on, Jiang Chengsi was so frustrated he felt like punching someone.

…

This was after Tang Wan hung up the phone that Jiang Jinsang turned to look at her.

“What did Zhou Uncle tell you to make you laugh like that?”

Tang Wan looked at Jiangjiang and Taotao playing in the yard before she whispered, “Liang Han was uncooperative during the examination, and then…”

With all the elders at home, Tang Wan would certainly not describe it like Zhou Zhongqing did with terms like ‘bare butt’; she merely expressed it more euphemistically, trusting the others would understand.

“That jerk had it coming. Zhou Uncle mentioned the lady in charge of the tests; does she have doe eyes?” Jiang Chengsi asked.

Tang Wan nodded, “Have you met her too?”

“More than just met. Today at the Liang family, he had a drug fit. He collapsed with convulsions, and even his parents couldn’t hold him down. It was that young lady who came over, took control by pinning him down, and pulled out a syringe…”

Jiang Chengsi described the scene vividly, almost performing it for everyone.

Given the morning’s events, there was still an odd tension in the house; his exaggerated story was meant to lighten the mood and entertain everyone.

“You don’t know how cool she was at that moment—kneeling on his back, holding his head down, she jabbed his neck so swiftly and effortlessly,” he said.
