”If he can’t make it, Mr. Xie will probably be the happiest.” Because of the wedding arrangements, Xie Duo and his sister Xie Tongtong were often coming to the Jiang house, and to facilitate communication, everyone created a group chat, gradually becoming more familiar with each other.

Jiang Jinsang chuckled softly, ”Xie Duo is just waiting to give my brother a hard time during the wedding door games. If Old Huo is there, the Xie Family’s relatives and friends might all be a bit intimidated, so he’s been keeping Huo’s departure from Beijing a secret from Xie Duo...”

Xie Duo was indeed close to going mad recently!

The old Mr. Xie and Xie Yongqi meant to really challenge Jiang Yanting, but as they wouldn’t take the lead, Xie Duo couldn’t be unaware of the schemes they were playing.

They were too senior to tease Jiang Yanting, and they didn’t want to ruin the image they had in his mind, so the unpleasant task fell to him.

And the reasons they gave sounded particularly good.

Old Mr. Xie: ”You and Yanting have been rivals since childhood, with no clear winner. After the wedding, he’ll be your legitimate uncle by marriage, and you’ll have to respect him. Opportunities to challenge him won’t come often, we’re entrusting you with the door games as a sign of our trust and as an opportunity for ’revenge.’”

Xie Yongqi: ”Prepare earnestly and seize the moment well.”

Old Mr. Xie: ”I know you’ve always wanted to challenge him, and this is a legitimate opportunity for you to rough him up.”

Xie Yongqi: ”I have faith in you.”

Even Xie Tongtong was holding back laughter at the edge, because they all knew that Huo Qinqi was already booked as the best man for the welcoming procession, and they didn’t know if Jiang Jinsang would come to join in on the fun, but Jiang Chengsi and Qi Zeyan were probably going to be there.

It was bound to be very lively.

...

On the way there, Tang Wan chatted with Jiang Jinsang and soon they arrived at the old house. As the car entered the courtyard, they saw a car parked inside that neither belonged to the Jiang Family nor looked familiar.

Jiang Yanting’s wedding was imminent, and recently quite a few people had come directly to the old house to offer their congratulations.

They were simply afraid that the wedding would be too crowded, and the Jiang Family wouldn’t be able to attend to them, nor would they have the chance to show their faces in front of everyone; those who came in private to offer their congratulations usually brought quite generous gifts.

In the past few days, the old house had never been quiet, but on such a joyous occasion, the old lady was happy, and they warmly welcomed all visitors as guests.

Jiang Cuo and Jiang Jiu hadn’t followed Jiang Jinsang that day, and upon seeing his return, they went to greet him to give him a forewarning.

”Master, today’s visitors are from the Liang Family.”

”Mhm.” Jiang Jinsang nodded.

Jiang Cuo was simply giving them a heads-up. As Jiang Jinsang led Tang Wan into the house, Tang Wan asked in a low voice, ”The Liang’s? Who are they?”

She just wanted to get a bit of a background, since they were about to meet them anyway.

”I don’t know them either, they might be acquaintances of Grandmother.” There were many people in Beijing, and not just one family with the surname Liang, but it seemed there were none with that surname who were particularly close to the Jiang Family.

After the two entered the house, there were four people sitting in the living room: an elderly gentleman, a middle-aged couple, and a young man in his early twenties.

”Back already, come over here,” the old lady called out with a smile.

”Xiaowu, this is your elder brother and his wife, these two kids are really good-looking,” said the old gentleman sitting next to the old lady, offering polite compliments.

”This is your Grandfather Liang, as well as Uncle Liang, Auntie, and the younger brother of the Liang Family,” the old lady introduced them briefly.

After greetings were exchanged in turn, they sat down and chatted for a while, and it was only then Tang Wan was surprised to realize that she knew this Mrs. Liang...

She actually recognized her.

Exchanging looks with Jiang Jinsang, it seemed that both had remembered her.

She was urging her son to be more sociable, telling him to call Jiang Jinsang and Tang Wan ’brother’ and ’sister-in-law.’

But the boy was somewhat rebellious and didn’t want to listen to his mother, reluctantly heeding her with a call.
