Pampered by Short-Lived Bigshot

“Forget it, keep your stern face, I would be scared into having a heart attack if you suddenly turned gentle. Everyone’s so busy lately, and I’m the only one free to take care of the kids…” Jiang Chengsi expressed his helplessness.

“Is Xiaowu also busy?” Huo Qinqi asked casually.

“With Grandpa Tang and my father-in-law coming, as well as my sister-in-law’s grandparents, how can they not be busy? My second brother is busy getting married, there are bound to be things he can’t attend to, so Xiaowu has to come by herself.” Jiang Chengsi clicked his tongue, “By the way, I heard that Master Xi set up a blind date for my aunt. You were there that day.”

“What about it?”

“I was just curious. After all, my aunt has a partner. Not only Xiaowu but all of us Jiang brothers have to call him ‘Uncle’ according to seniority. I’m curious about what kind of man Master Xi introduced.”

Jiang Chengsi said with a smile.

“It’s not that I’m being nosy, but if she finds someone insignificant, should I call him uncle?”

“Let that man dream on.”

Jiang Chengsi was naturally mischievous and naughty, and if Shen Shuci had poor taste and ended up with some insignificant fellow, he wouldn’t look up to him, and naturally, he wouldn’t want to call him uncle.

“Old Huo, how is her blind date? Tell me about it.” Jiang Chengsi was gossiping out of boredom.

“I don’t remember, can’t recall.”

“Your memory is so good…”

“Why should I remember someone inconsequential, or have any impression of them?”

“…”

Jiang Chengsi snorted coldly, “You’re the boss, so whatever you say is right.”

“But her parents definitely know about her blind date, otherwise Master Xi wouldn’t take it upon himself to arrange such things. She’s so young, why is there a need to hurry?”

“You think she’s very young?”

“She’s ten years younger than you, what do you think?”

“…”

The Huo Family was listening on the side, heart pounding with fear. If the situation hadn’t been so inappropriate, they really wanted to retort at Jiang Chengsi:

What’s wrong with being ten years younger! Does love have anything to do with age?

It’s perfectly normal for an older husband to have a younger wife!

In the following days, the whole Jiang Family was busy, which meant Jiang Chengsi rarely took the kids to the Huo Family.

After work, Shen Shuci would also go there to help out a bit. She hadn’t seen Huo Qinqi much either until she heard about him through Tang Wan.

The next morning, Shen Family’s elders were to arrive in Beijing, and they discussed going to the airport to pick them up together, and then arranging accommodations for them. Shen Shuci’s rented room was too small to accommodate them.

“Grandpa and Grandma are coming pretty early,” she said. There was still about a week left until the wedding banquet.

“The weather is good now; they can enjoy Beijing for a few extra days,” Shen Shuci replied happily, knowing her parents were coming. “How about we arrange for them to stay at the hotel where the wedding banquet will be held? The environment is nice there, and it’s close to where I live.”

The hotel for Yanting and Zhixian’s wedding wasn’t in the city center; instead, it was near Hexi, practically a small resort village.

“That would work,” said Tang Wan, who had the same thought. “By the way, I’ve finished the Cyan Feather for your sister-in-law’s wedding. Let me show it to you.”

Cyan Feather was already exquisite and luxurious, especially since it was for a wedding. Tang Wan had put a lot of effort into it, naturally making it very glamorous.

“She’ll definitely look beautiful wearing it,” Shen Shuci said, examining the headpiece.

“When it’s your turn to get married, I’ll make one for you too,” Tang Wan said with a smile. “I heard Huo Brother is leaving tomorrow. I don’t know if he’ll be able to make it back for the wedding. If he doesn’t come, we’ll have to adjust the groomsmen.”

Huo Qinqi would usually not notify anyone in advance when he returned to the base, but this time it involved Yanting’s marriage, so he would definitely inform them ahead of time if anything unexpected arose.

“Really…” Shen Shuci laughed and pursed her lips but didn’t ask further.

…

After agreeing with Tang Wan on the time to pick up her parents the next day, Shen Shuci drove home. Whether Huo Qinqi left or not didn’t concern her much, but after what he had said last time, how could she not care?

He’s turned her life upside down and then disappeared. Now he’s leaving again?

He’s usually so quiet, why must he act so terribly in these situations?
