Chapter 638: 403 Destroy the Blind Date: Snatch the Cellphone, Pull the Little Hand_2

“Alright.”

Shen Shuci admitted that the man Xi Fangli introduced was decent, but she felt no spark, and there was nothing she could do about it. However, out of politeness, she could only be courteous.

Watching the two of them leave, the Huo family was already panicking…

This Yu Wei and their Jinsang were completely different people. He was sociable, whereas someone might barely get ten words out of Jinsang during a whole meal with Shen Shuci.

Miss Shen and Mr. Yu seemed to be “enjoying their conversation” quite a bit. And now, as a “lone man and a lone woman” heading to the courtyard of the Jiang family, which was right next to a small grove—practically a dating sanctuary.

Anything could happen…

The walls of their house were about to be brought down.

“Xiaohuo, stay for dinner tonight. I haven’t eaten with you in so long.” The old lady smiled at Huo Qinqi.

He nodded in agreement.

“I really wonder how those two are getting along? Now that I look at them, they seem rather well-matched.”

With the two concerned parties gone, the old lady felt free to express her thoughts.

“Yu Wei is a good kid. Anyway, Shuci will definitely not suffer following him,” Xi Fangli said with a smile, “It’s just that this girl is a bit cold in temperament, I don’t know what Yu Wei thinks of her.”

“From the moment she came in, that young man’s eyes were practically glued to her. I think they have a chance.” If she could facilitate a good match in her own household, the old lady naturally would be happy to see it happen.

“Though Shuci is young, she is mature and stable, and also beautiful. I think that young man is quite satisfied with her.”

“He was a bit nervous at first, but later it was he who kept finding topics to talk about. You can tell by the way he speaks—he’s interested. Don’t worry, this matter has promise.”

After hearing the old lady’s words, Xi Fangli smiled in relief, “I’ll take your good words to heart.”

Huo Qinqi lowered his head and took a sip of his tea. The tea had long since gone cold, but taking it down burned like fire…

It was harsh on the throat, uncomfortable!

On Shen Shuci’s side, although she agreed to the elder’s request for a stroll, their lack of familiarity made the situation somewhat awkward. Fortunately, Yu Wei was good at making conversation, helping to reduce the embarrassment.

“Miss Shen, no need to be nervous. Just think of it as making a new friend.”

Yu Wei was indeed very satisfied with her. He had always liked mature, quiet, and independent girls, and Shen Shuci nearly met all his requirements.

“Mhm.” She nodded her head, as her phone in her pocket vibrated twice which she then took out to look.

A message from Huo Qinqi: [Need help?]

Shen Shuci wasn’t foolish; she understood what he meant. But in this situation, what could he do to help her?

[How can you help?]

However, after sending the message, it vanished like a stone sinking into the ocean, without any response.

Moreover, being alone with Yu Wei and staring at her phone was not very polite, so she put the phone back into her pocket and ignored it.

Back in the living room, Huo Qinqi glanced at the message on his phone, then walked out with his phone in hand.

He always acted decisively and unpredictably, and with his special profession, unless he spoke of it, even Jiang Jinsang wouldn’t ask about his actions.

Xi Fangli continued discussing with the old lady whether Yu Wei and Shen Shuci were suitable, while Jiang Jinsang, uninterested in the conversation, went to help in the kitchen.

“Why did you come in? Where is Huo big brother?”

“He might have to reply to some work-related calls, so he went out with his phone.”

“He’s always so secretive,” Tang Wan said with a laugh.

After all, few inquired about Huo Qinqi’s affairs.

The people of the Huo family assumed he had some important phone call. Though they followed him out, they kept their distance, as they couldn’t listen if it was a work-related call.

But following him outside, they saw him scanning the front courtyard before heading straight to the back.

Not far along, they spotted Shen Shuci and Yu Wei, with their backs to him, facing a magnolia tree, seemingly deep in conversation…

Approaching the enemy quietly, lying in ambush, and concealing oneself were all part of the essential training. Coupled with the rustling of the wind through the trees and the dimming sky casting mottled, slanting shadows, as he approached, neither of the two noticed.
