Chapter 254: 181 Jiangjiang: Women are such a bother, lending my shoulder for you to lean on (3rd update)_2

Shen Zhixian told him how to use the toilet and where the toilet paper was located, “Do you need my help with anything else?”

“No…”

“Hand soap and paper towels are all here. This sink is a bit high. If you can’t reach it, just call for me.” Shen Zhixian looked like she was willing to do everything for him.

“Mhm mhm.” Jiangjiang nodded obediently, glancing sidelong at his crap dad.

The difference was too great.

If he couldn’t reach the sink, his dad would help him, but he’d always make a point to say, “You little dwarf!”

It was truly infuriating!

After Shen Zhixian closed the door and left, she continued to the kitchen to boil water, while Jiang Yanting followed her…

“Why did you bring that child here?” Shen Zhixian turned on the tap, filling the kettle with water.

“He is your son.”

“Jiang Yanting, I think…” Shen Zhixian forced a bitter smile, “He’s quite cute, but…”

“The child didn’t die back then; he was just unwell. We took him to a big hospital, pampered him for over three months, then eventually brought him back to the country.”

Shen Zhixian’s hand trembled, “Jiang Yanting, that’s not funny.”

“If you don’t believe me, you can take him for a paternity test.”

Her hand already shaken and weak, the words “paternity test” struck her, her fingers trembling, “clang—” the kettle crashed into the sink, water gushing and splashing her all over.

And her body went limp, tears already streaming down without stopping.

“It’s impossible. The child was clearly…” Shen Zhixian choked up.

“Did you see it with your own eyes?”

“I…”

“Who told you the child was gone?”

Shen Zhixian’s mind was in chaos at that moment; she was so devastated during that time that she lived in a daze, unable to remember many details clearly.

“Was it the Xie Family who took you back then? Who was there?”

Shen Zhixian’s mind exploded once again.

Everyone in the Xie Family had been good to her. She filtered through all the people from that time in her mind. Just thinking that someone intentionally hid the child’s existence, if it weren’t for Jiang Yanting finding the child, what would have become of him…

Following the immense shock and elation, a bone-chilling cold gripped her.

Her face turned deathly pale, her lips tightly pursed, the last vestiges of color draining completely from her features.

The Xie Family truly had never shown her any hostility, yet the mere thought of this matter made it all the more terrifying. She couldn’t stop shaking uncontrollably!

Excitement, fear, a chill to her very core.

“Xianxian?” Jiang Yanting turned off the tap and took her hand.

“I, I just…” Her mind was a complete mess.

“Regarding the child, there’s no need for me to lie to you. If he wasn’t my own son, why would I care for him by my side for so long? And in my lifetime…” Jiang Yanting acknowledged her complex emotions, gripping her hand and preparing to pull her into his embrace.

“There’s just been one woman.”

Shen Zhixian knew the truth in his words. Whether the child was hers or not, he had no reason to lie to her.

In contrast, too many doubts had arisen back then, and because she had never seen the child for one last time, she still couldn’t find closure to this day.

But everything came so suddenly, with overwhelming joy accompanied by a deep chill, leaving her completely bewildered.

“Daddy—what’s going on with you two!” Jiangjiang, hearing the sound of the kettle falling, hopped off the toilet and ran straight out.

At that moment he was holding up his little pants, standing at the kitchen doorway. There stood Jiang Yanting and Shen Zhixian, not yet in each other’s arms, merely in an ambiguous posture, seemingly unsure of what to do.

“Are you done?” Jiang Yanting turned around, blocking Jiangjiang’s view, while Shen Zhixian wiped her tears continuously, but the tears kept falling as if they were worthless, unabated.

“I…” Jiangjiang pursed his lips, seemingly wanting to see what was wrong with Shen Zhixian? “I heard some noise outside, thought something happened?”

“You haven’t even dressed properly, certainly didn’t wash your hands. Let me take you back…” Jiang Yanting said, nearly lifting Jiangjiang back into the washroom.

As the father and son left, Shen Zhixian squatted down on the ground, desperately holding back her voice, hugging her knees, burying her head inside, and softly sobbing aloud…

He was actually still here?
