Chapter 189: 146 Apologized and was rebuffed, does the boss want to date my friend? (2 more updates)_2

The elder chuckled, “You’re talking about that, huh…”

“Yes.”

“Logically speaking, I should be the one apologizing on Wanwan’s behalf. I heard she laid hands on Miss Zhuang that night.”

“She had it coming, it was my poor upbringing. Why are you still standing there? Apologize right now!” Zhuang Yan became anxious and angry when Zhuang Rao didn’t move.

“I’m sorry.” The voice was perfunctory and extremely reluctant.

Ever since the auction, Zhuang Rao had become the laughingstock of Beijing. She had already found it hard to swallow this humiliation, and now she even had to come and apologize, which she was even more reluctant to do.

“I’ve received your apology. I’d like to rest now…”

Although Tang Lao said this, Zhuang Yan could detect his dissatisfaction, but before he could say anything else, the elder spoke again.

“My legs are not great; I won’t stand up to see you two out. Yunxian, please show them out.”

“The two of you, please.”

…

After leaving the hospital room, Zhuang Rao couldn’t help but mutter a few words.

“We’ve already apologized. What more do they want? Even if it was me who provoked Tang Wan, I was hit too, and she hasn’t suffered any loss!”

“How dare you speak!” Zhuang Yan was furious, “Do you know whom you’ve offended?”

“Are they just relying on the backing of the Jiang Family? Dad, what exactly are you afraid of? We’ve already humbled ourselves so much, and once inside, they didn’t even offer us a glass of water or let us touch a chair, yet they put on quite the show!”

“The Tang Family may be formidable, but the local snake cannot be crushed by a strong dragon; can they really extend their reach even here?”

“Just some old fossil trying to take liberties…”

Zhuang Rao hadn’t finished her sentence when Zhuang Yan raised his hand and slapped her!

With a slap, Zhuang Rao was completely stunned. She shakily touched her face as if it was on fire, “Dad?”

“You still dare to spout nonsense. It’s because you can’t keep your mouth shut that we’ve ended up in so much trouble. Do you know how the whole of Beijing is talking about us? Do you understand how passive our family business has become and how many cold looks I have to endure when I step outside?”

“When Jiang Lao publicly humiliated you, those who wanted to curry favor with the Jiang Family didn’t dare speak another word to me.”

“Are you not satisfied unless the entire Zhuang Family is dragged down?”

Zhuang Rao covered her face with her hand, clenching her teeth, “I apologized too!”

“What was that apology? Reluctant and half-hearted. Do you think they couldn’t hear it?” Zhuang Yan, overcome with anger, continued, “Let me tell you, for the next few days, you are going to the hospital every day until the Tang Family forgives you. Only then can you come back home!”

“Dad—” Zhuang Rao panicked at hearing this!

“Put yourself together. Even if they don’t forgive you, everyone makes mistakes, but at least we’ve made an effort. If anyone brings this up again, and the Tang Family remains relentless, then they are the ones being unreasonable!”

Zhuang Rao bit her lip. She was already reluctant to apologize, and having to go daily made her even more unwilling.

“Are you listening?”

Zhuang Rao, her face covered, nodded, her heart filled with even more hatred for Tang Wan.

After the Zhuang father and daughter left, the elder briefly discussed the matter with Tang Yunxian.

“To me, it’s a minor friction, not worth parents coming over.”

“Call and check where Wanwan and the others are, to avoid running into them downstairs.” The elder was not an unforgiving man, but he could tell that Zhuang Rao had not come to apologize sincerely.

He had accepted the apology but considering his granddaughter had been publicly humiliated, he wasn’t the person involved and couldn’t decide for Tang Wan, so he forgave them outright.

Tang Yunxian obliged, taking out his phone to make the call. By then, Tang Wan and Jiang Jinsang had already purchased things and returned to the hospital but had narrowly missed running into the Zhuang father and daughter by opting for different elevators.

“Did Uncle Tang call to hurry us?” Jiang Jinsang looked sideways towards the person beside him. Although they had taken a trip to the supermarket together, they hadn’t talked much.

He thought he had overdone it last night, while Tang Wan felt too embarrassed to face him, convinced that she had disgracefully dreamt about him.
