Chapter 180: 141 Roommates, warmth in every glance; Deadbeat dad turns over a new leaf? (3 updates)_2

…

Tang Wan only listened to her complain for a bit before hanging up the phone, preparing to take a shower. However, after changing her clothes, she felt at a loss for what to do next; it didn’t feel right to go to bed yet, so she could only sit and wait for him.

But what she got instead was a phone call from Fan Mingyu.

“…I didn’t disturb you and Xiaowu, did I?”

Tang Wan’s mouth twitched, “No, not at all, Xiaowu isn’t in the room.”

“Where did he go?” Fan Mingyu frowned, feeling frustrated about finally creating an opportunity for the two of them, and this kid just wasn’t seizing it.

“To the gym.”

“How’s the hotel? Is the environment alright?”

“It’s pretty good,” Tang Wan couldn’t really say anything else.

“Right, the reason I called you was to remind you to pay close attention to Xiaowu’s health tonight. He’s easily afflicted by changes in environment and may feel unwell. It might be a bit of trouble for you, just keep an eye on him. That kid is sometimes stubborn, likes to tough it out, and won’t promptly mention when he’s feeling uncomfortable. He should have brought the medicine…”

“I’ll be attentive.”

“Then there’s nothing more. Get some rest early.”

…

Fan Mingyu ended the call, humming a song while patting her face with skincare products.

Jiang Zhenhuan leaned against the bed’s edge and couldn’t help but say, “Isn’t this a bit inappropriate? After all, Wanwan is a young girl, and this must be very awkward for her.”

“If Wanwan had no feelings for our Xiaowu, I wouldn’t bother to play matchmaker. Young people are often shy, and we, as their elders, can only try to create more opportunities for them.”

“What about Xiaowu’s side?”

“He was the one who told me one room would be enough,” Fan Mingyu giggled, “Otherwise, do you think I would really dare to book the room like that? I still have to consider Wanwan’s feelings.”

Jiang Zhenhuan coughed twice:

Such a bold move, his Xiaowu really dared to pull it off.

Since there was only one room card, which was left in the switch to control the power supply, Jiang Jinsang rang the doorbell upon returning.

When Tang Wan opened the door, she noticed he had sweat on his face, yet his expression wasn’t like that of someone who had just worked out; his lips were pale, and despite the small distance between them indoors and outdoors, his breathing was slightly labored, betraying no hint of warmth.

“Are you okay?” Tang Wan reached out to touch his arm, which was braced against the doorframe.

Where her hand met his skin, it was chillingly cool.

Jiang Jinsang shook his head.

“You’re very cold.”

Jiang Jinsang seemed uncomfortable, slightly hunched over. It looked like he was trying to prove he was fine by attempting to stand up straight, but then her warm hand touched his forehead. She must have just taken a bath, her scent enveloping him, and his body tensed up slightly.

“You should come in quickly. Is the medicine in the suitcase?” Tang Wan supported him as he walked inside, anxiously searching for the medicine.

“Mm.”

The suitcase had been opened before, no combination required. The medicine bottles were in a very conspicuous place. Having looked after him once, she had some experience, so she took out a few pills and handed him a cup of warm water.

After taking his medicine, Jiang Jinsang leaned against the bed to rest for a while, still cold all over from the sweat of his workout.

Tang Wan adjusted the room’s air conditioning to a higher temperature, sat by his side for a moment, and seeing a hint of color return to his lips, she asked softly, “How do you feel? More comfortable now?”

“Mm.”

“Do you want to take a shower first? You’re covered in sweat; changing into fresh clothes might make you feel better.”

He softly agreed with her.

“Then I’ll go ahead and turn on the shower for you. That way, when you go in, the bathroom will be warm.”

Tang Wan wasn’t sure what else she could do for him, but tried her best to make him more comfortable.

She adjusted the water temperature in the bathroom, turned on the shower, and just as she was about to close the door, she felt someone approach. Turning around, she saw Jiang Jinsang standing behind her.

He was not short, nearly blocking all the light in front of her. The hotel corridor’s dim lighting cast a warm glow to his otherwise pale skin, as he looked down at her with unfaltering gaze.

Perhaps feeling a bit recovered, his breath now had a trace of warmth.
