Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

After hanging up, Bai Yiyi continued working.

But by the time work ended, she still hadn’t received a call from Gu Kai.

Bai Yiyi cursed Gu Kai in her heart, decided not to call him again, and drove straight to the hospital.

The weather was turning autumnal, and by the time she arrived at the hospital, dusk had already fallen.

Through the car window, Bai Yiyi saw Gu Kai walking out of the hospital with a woman, chatting as they walked toward the parking lot.

Bai Yiyi took out her mobile phone, her gaze shifting in the direction of the parking lot.

Just as Gu Kai and the woman got into the car and she was about to call him, her own mobile phone rang.

“Mommy.”

The caller was Tongtong.

A smile immediately bloomed on Bai Yiyi’s face, her voice tender and cheerful: “Tongtong, mommy will be home soon, you be a good girl and wait at home for mommy, okay?”

“Good girl, Tongtong.”

Tongtong’s childish voice penetrated through the phone line into her ears, making Bai Yiyi’s heart soften. She said goodbye to Tongtong, started the engine, and left.

Just as Gu Kai’s car hit the road, he caught sight of that familiar license plate number. His narrow eyes squinted slightly, and his handsome brows furrowed.

“Doctor Gu, when you meet…”

“Did anyone call me this afternoon?” Before Wei Jingshan could finish speaking, Gu Kai suddenly turned to look at her with a serious tone.

Wei Jingshan blinked, and then smacked her own head in annoyance, “Ah, Doctor Gu, I forgot about this. After you entered the operating room this afternoon, someone named Bai Yiyi called you, asking me to tell you to give her a call back. I’m so sorry.”

“Did she say anything else?”

“No, just that you should call her back.” Wei Jingshan immediately shook her head, giving Gu Kai an innocent look.

In the evening, after Bai Yiyi had bathed Tongtong, told her a fairy tale story, and put her to sleep, she returned to her room when her phone started ringing.

Seeing the caller ID, she pressed the answer button and spoke indifferently, “Hello?”

“I’ll be at your house in a bit, don’t go to sleep yet.”

Over the phone, Gu Kai’s voice came through, and Bai Yiyi frowned, “What do you want?”

“Isn’t it you who were looking for me? It’s not convenient to talk while driving. I’ll explain when I get there.” Gu Kai’s tone carried a hint of amusement, as though he was in a good mood.

Bai Yiyi pursed her lips, thinking to herself, after your date with another woman, you finally remember I needed something. With this kind of speed, if someone was waiting for you to save them, they’d be long gone.

She really wanted to say it was nothing, but then she thought of Qian Songnan, and held back, her voice becoming cold and firm, “I know.”
