Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Hearing Bai Yiyi put it that way, Fang Zhiwei smiled and reached out to take the bag from Bai Yiyi’s hand.

Bai Yiyi smiled gratefully at Fang Zhiwei, thanked her, and quickly turned to walk toward the parking lot.

Unaware, behind her, at a window on one of the floors, Gu Kai stood with arms behind his back, his clearly jointed, large hand clutching the edge of the curtain. Through the glass window, he observed the scene below.

The corner of his mouth curled into a cold arc; that woman had made it to the hospital entrance and then walked away.

Minutes later, Fang Zhiwei arrived at Gu Kai’s office. He sat behind his desk, focused on studying a CT scan of a skull.

“Ah Kai.”

Fang Zhiwei walked to his desk, passed him the bag, and explained, “I ran into Bai Yiyi outside. She asked me to give this to you, saying you’d need it soon.”

“Oh.”

Gu Kai took the bag from her hand, looked inside briefly, and tossed it aside.

Mo Yu looked at the thermos in her hand and softly said, “Zhiwei, you don’t have to bring Uncle Fang his meals every day. It’s too tiring, let the driver deliver them. Or, I can have our housekeeper make a portion.”

Fang Zhiwei shook her head with a smile, “It’s not tiring; my dad loves the food I make and the soups I brew. Running back and forth a bit more each day to see him happy is worth it.”

Saying this, she placed the thermos on his desk and chirped, “Ah Kai, I brought an extra portion today. Would you like to try my cooking?”

“Sure.”

Gu Kai’s eyes sparked, happily accepting.

Fang Zhiwei seemed slightly surprised he agreed so quickly. On her way up she had wondered if Gu Kai would have any unusual reaction to Bai Yiyi coming to the hospital entrance but not entering.

But he seemed not to care at all.

She sighed with relief and felt more cheerful.

It was easy for Wen Ran to get Bai Yiyi’s hair.

However, Bai Yiyi kept insisting she not return so soon. On the third day, Mo Xiuchen called her and told her some news about Cheng Jia.

“Ranran, among the victims of this mudslide disaster, Cheng Jia might be one.”

“Cheng Jia?”

Wen Ran’s voice carried a touch of surprise. Was Cheng Jia in City C? Previously, there was talk she might have gone abroad, but that was just a possibility.

“Yes, yesterday the rescue team found Cheng Jia’s ID by the river. I’ve confirmed it; the ID is hers. Not just her, but her parents too.”

Wen Ran asked in confusion, “Aren’t her parents in G City?”

“They were in G City, but they came to City C a week ago. I guess they found out Cheng Jia was here and rushed over, but it was too late.”

“They all perished?”

Wen Ran frowned in concern.
