Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 843: 842 With you here, I’m not tired

“Ranran, are you free today? Let’s go shopping together; I want to buy some clothes. You could help me decide.”

It was a call from Shen Yuting. Hearing her words, Wen Ran felt somewhat surprised, her eyes flickered, and she said apologetically, “Sister Ting, I’m afraid I can’t today.”

Thinking about Mo Xiuchen outside, a gentle smile unconsciously spread across Wen Ran’s face. Before he left on his business trip, she had promised to accompany him to a place once he returned.

Now that he was back, and it happened to be Sunday, she wanted to go to the countryside villa with Xiuchen.

“Oh, Ranran, why not? Is there something else you have on?” Shen Yuting asked confusedly over the phone. Mo Xiuchen was on a business trip; what could she possibly have planned, unless she was hanging out with Bai Xiaoxiao?

“Mm, Xiuchen is back. I want to be with him,” Wen Ran said with a slight smile, openly admitting it.

...
“Xiuchen is back? I thought he was on a business trip?” Shen Yuting’s voice was filled with surprise. Without waiting for Ranran’s reply, she continued, “Ranran, are you looking to spend some alone time with Xiuchen?”

“It’s not really some alone time,” Wen Ran glanced towards the door, got out of bed, and walked into the dressing room. As she searched for clothes, she listened to Shen Yuting say, “If it’s not alone time, then bring Xiuchen along; he’s not an outsider. Ranran, I really want your advice, and besides, I want to buy clothes for Ah Liu. I was worried they wouldn’t fit, but with Xiuchen here, we wouldn’t make a mistake since he and Ah Liu have similar builds.”

“Sister Ting, I was planning to go with Xiuchen to…”

“That settles it, Ranran. You can’t refuse me. I won’t take up much of your time, just half a day…”

Shen Yuting stated an address and without waiting for Wen Ran to refuse, she hung up the phone.

“…”

Wen Ran looked at the call duration displayed on the screen and frowned in frustration.

Wen Ran opened the door, and Mo Xiuchen immediately turned around in the hallway. His deep, pondlike eyes swept over her long dress and a smile quickly spread across his face, “Ranran, you look beautiful.”

Wen Ran’s face heated up, and her heartbeat, which had just calmed, started accelerating again. She quickly regained her composure, smiling as she said, “Let’s go, downstairs first.”

“Mm.”

Mo Xiuchen walked beside her to the stairs, asking gently, “Ranran, you said once I returned, you would accompany me somewhere. Could we fulfill that promise today?”

His lips curved into a perfect arc, his handsome features accentuated by his smile, becoming even more stunningly charming and elegantly distinguished in every movement.

Wen Ran’s eyes flickered, and she pursed her lips, softly saying, “Xiuchen, you just returned late last night. Why don’t you rest in the morning?”

“I’m not tired,” Mo Xiuchen’s gaze intensely fixed on her, “Ranran, after breakfast let’s go. I want to see where you would take me.”

Intuition told him it must be a meaningful place.

Possibly, it was a place they had visited together before. His gaze was too eager; feeling overwhelmed, Wen Ran instinctively lowered her eyelids to avoid his, her tone slightly apologetic, “Xiuchen, just now Sister Ting called me. She wanted me to go shopping with her for clothes.”

“Shen Yuting?” Mo Xiuchen’s eyes narrowed slightly, recalling the words Shen Yuting had spoken over the phone that night. His lips pressed together, his voice carrying a hint of displeasure, “Ranran, she can ask Jiang Liu to accompany her for shopping; why does she need to drag you into it? Don’t bother with her.”

“But she said she was waiting for me on Pinming Street, Jiang Liu must be busy, right? She heard you were back and wanted to see your figure to help Jiang Liu pick out clothes,”

Wen Ran hesitated a bit as she spoke. Although Shen Yuting was her cousin, their relationship was not as close as the one she shared with Bai Xiaoxiao. If it had been Bai Xiaoxiao who called today, she could have simply refused and that would have been the end of it.

But Shen Yuting seldom asked her to go shopping together. Besides, considering the newspaper incident involving Cheng Jia last time, Shen Yuting had been the one busying herself with it regardless of the situation, and Wen Ran didn’t want to remain indebted to her.

“Alright, I’ll go with you.”

Mo Xiuchen furrowed his brows slightly. Although he didn’t like to join others for shopping, if Ranran was going, he wanted to accompany her.
