Lin Xiu never thought clicking on some random pop-up after a bad match would end up being the biggest decision of his life. Honestly, he barely thought about it at all. Fresh out of university with no job in sight, one more disappointing day just blended into the last, and when a message asked if he wanted to leave reality, it looked like spam, but he still hit yes just to make it go away.Next thing he knew, he wasn't at his computer anymore. The year read 2666. Humanity had survived, barely, hiding behind fortress walls while zombies and mutated things nobody back home could've dreamed up ravaged everything outside the gates. Then he found out whose body he'd landed in, and it was THE worst landing platform for him because this was Lin Xiu, who wasn't just an unknown man; he was a joke, the instructors gave up on, and classmates openly laughed at, someone whose future was already written before he even showed up to training. That changed after his first real fight, though. A strange interface popped up in his vision, and every kill started paying out more than a corpse, real strength, abilities that should've taken years to earn. Nobody around him seemed to notice any of it happening, so he kept his mouth shut, partly out of confusion and partly because he'd already learned what this world did to people who talked too much.He kept losing fights and kept getting hurt, while some days running felt smarter than fighting. But the kid everyone used to mock kept crawling back stronger, until even people who hated him couldn't ignore it anymore. By then, Lin Xiu wasn't thinking about getting home, and he was actually striving to just last one more day in this cutthroat world.
