Two-Faced Husband, Have Some Decency!

”This is your dowry from us,” Yu Qianying said. She cut off Song Yu right after she called out ”mum”, ”Don’t reject this in such a hurry. We were already worried about how much dowry we should give you so that it’ll be presentable. If we give you all of our savings, the amount would be so insignificant that others may not even bother. That’ll make us seem stingy instead.

We won’t let you marry over to their family with nothing. At first, I was thinking to take out three hundred thousand from our savings. It’s better than nothing, at least we’ve tried. Since Yu Zidong returned us five million today, it’s just right for your dowry. It’ll seem presentable even if this amount doesn’t mean much to the Qi family. This amount of money can at least support you and let them know that we’re not taking advantage of them.

Don’t argue on this anymore. Even if you’re not going to spend the money, I feel more secure keeping the money with you,” Yu Qianying said, ”Is Qi Chengzhi beside you? Pass the phone to him.”

Song Yu gave Qi Chengzhi the phone and said, ”Mum wants to speak to you.”

Qi Chengzhi took the phone and sat down beside Song Yu. ”Mum,” he called.

Song Yu could not hear what Yu Qianying spoke on the phone, but Qi Chengzhi was paying attention and replied with ”uhm” from time to time.

He hung up the phone after a while. Song Yu asked curiously, ”What did mum tell you?”

”Nothing, she just told me to accept the dowry,” Qi Chengzhi glanced at her with a gentle gaze, ”Since mum and dad insisted, you should accept it. It’ll solve their worries. Later on, you can return them slowly without them realizing it. For example, you can return the money by adding it to their monthly allowance that you give. They won’t suspect anything if you increased the allowance since you’re now married to me.”

Only then Song Yu felt at ease.

…

…

The next day, Song Yu was about to go out and have lunch together with Ruan Danchen. After they left the office and walked through the long hallway, they saw Liang Lihua standing alone at the reception counter

When Liang Lihua saw Song Yu, she glanced towards the side as if she was embarrassed to meet her.

Song Yu’s expression stiffened for a moment before the walked towards the elevator without looking at Liang Lihua.

”Song Yu!” Liang Lihua scurried over, her face still showing embarrassment and fear.

She blocked in front of the elevator, obstructing the other colleagues from entering as well.

Liang Lihua grabbed Song Yu’s hand and said, ”Song Yu, I’ve realized that I was wrong for what I did last time. I shouldn’t have hit you, I’m so sorry.”

Song Yu frowned and tried very hard to escape from her hand but Liang Lihua’s grip was very firm. After Song Yu managed to free her hand, her wrist and the back of her hand was reddened.

She did not speak, she just massaged her wrist gently. Out of nowhere, Liang Lihua took her wrist hurriedly and held it gently while she massaged her wrist with one hand. ”I’m sorry, so sorry. I didn’t hurt you, did I? I didn’t mean to!”

Song Yu shook her off immediately and backed away. ”What are you trying to do?”

”Song Yu, I’m here to apologize to you. It’s my fault for hitting you and accusing you. I’m sorry,” Liang Lihua said in a sobbing voice and teary face. She stepped forward to try to hold Song Yu’s hand again.

”Stop touching me!” Song Yu avoided her with a frown.

”Okay, I won’t. Song Yu, can you forgive me? It’s my own fault. Song Yu, please don’t hate me,” Liang Lihua balled her fist and covered it with another and made a begging gesture while she spoke.

Song Yu could not understand why Liang Lihua was acting so obsequiously. She said indifferently, ”I’m no longer bothered by that incident, please leave.”

Then, the elevator door opened. There was already a crowd gathering at the entrance of the elevator, most of them were her colleagues from different departments. Song Yu did not want to be a joke in front of all these people. She passed by Liang Lihua to enter the elevator, but Liang Lihua blocked her path once again.

She bowed and thanked her, ”Thank you, thank you. I know that you’re a generous person. Song Yu, since you’ve forgiven me, can Qi Chengzhi let out company go?”

Song Yu was still guessing why Liang Lihua suddenly came crying to apologize. If she wanted to please her, why would she humiliate her and pull her hair the last time they met?
