A Star Reborn: The Queen’s Return

”Escort you in?” Unexpectedly, Xia Ling smiled. ”Miss Gu, are you still sleeping? You don’t have an invitation, so why should I escort you in? You really think too highly of yourself.”

The crowd was shocked. If she did not intend to let Gu Lin in, why did she tell the security officer to stop?

Xia Ling continued, ”Gu Lin, just now, you scolded my staff and haven’t apologized. Do you think you can leave just like that? You better apologize!” She said the last few words so aggressively that she frightened everyone around.

Gu Lin was also shocked by her tone. After a long time, she finally said, ”No way!” What a joke. She was the eldest daughter of the Gu family. Why should she apologize to mere workers? ”They aren’t worthy!”

”You don’t get to decide if they’re worthy.” Xia Ling was unwilling to relent. ”I’ll give you three seconds. If you don’t apologize, you have to bear the consequences.”

”Ha, what consequences can there be? I’m so scared!” Gu Lin laughed audaciously. She was used to being pampered and everyone giving in to her, so she really did not believe that Xia Ling could do anything to her.

Xia Ling glanced around. In front of the red carpet, there were flower baskets sent by famous families from all around the world such as the Gu Family. That flower basket was given to her in the name of the Gu Financial Magnate by Old Master Gu to establish good relations with Xia Ling. Although her current relationship with Li Lei was strained, Old Master Gu was not so short-sighted and always thought that this girl was not simple and was destined to be Li Lei’s lover… Even if she were not able to end up with Li Lei, her future achievements should not be underestimated.

Old Master Gu did not wish for their relationship to be ruined because of his granddaughter.

”This is a flower basket from your family.” Xia Ling pointed to the flower basket and spoke coldly. ”As the eldest daughter of the Gu family, you insulted my staff in front of everyone. How could I accept this flower basket? Gu Lin, it’s ok if you don’t apologize. I will ask someone to throw this flower basket away.”

There was an uproar in the crowd.

If she threw the flower basket away, the Gu Financial Magnate would be extremely humiliated!

It was worse than harshly slapping someone’s face!

Gu Lin also started to panic. Although she was causing trouble, she was worried that her grandfather would really skin her alive. She viciously glared at Xia Ling. ”You wouldn’t dare!”

”Why wouldn’t I?” Xia Ling said firmly and calmly. ”Do you know why I started Phoenix Down Corporation? That’s because… what other place can I be more willful and stubborn at than my own company?”

In the past, when she was in Skyart, she had to consider Li Lei whenever she did something.

However, now, she did not need to care about anything anymore.

She smiled happily, but in her heart, she was faintly disappointed and… in pain.

If only he were here.

If only he came back.

She would rather not have Phoenix Down Corporation and obediently not cause trouble for him.

She only wanted her sunshine back…

However, perhaps, he would never return.
