Star Martial Era: The Way of Star Light Cultivation

Chapter 679: Chapter 276: No Fear (Vote for Monthly Pass)

Green Snake Castle was a settlement established by the Golden Snake Clan halfway up a mountain, partially inside the mountain itself. After Dong Zhao and the others fell back to this place, they had set up defensive arrays, with which they were firmly resisting the siege by the Alien Race.

Dong Zhao’s original plan was to rely on the array, and with their strength, they would have been able to kill off this wave of pursuing Alien Race members.

However, to Dong Zhao’s surprise, after they retreated to Green Snake Castle, the number of Alien Race attackers kept increasing.

Not only were there members of the Golden Snake Clan with their extremely tricky attacks, but there were also experts from the Fire Bull Clan, whose strength was immense and attacks brutally fierce.

The Golden Snake and Fire Bull Clans had actually sent experts to siege them simultaneously.

Initially, there had only been one Sixth Tier Expert chasing them.

Now, there were as many as four.

As for the Fifth Tier, there were more than thirty, and over five hundred at the Fourth Tier.

They were surrounded. Under such circumstances, the geographical advantage of Green Snake Castle had turned into a place of certain death.

It prevented them from breaking out.

Fortunately, Dong Zhao had previously laid down the Origin Return Spiritual Light Array.

The Origin Return Spiritual Light Array not only provided a basic layer of defense but also doubled their Star Power recovery rate as long as they were within the array, which was why they had managed to hold on for several days.

However, the operation of the Origin Return Spiritual Light Array required a large amount of Star Jade.

The Star Jade they had brought earlier, including those obtained from the battles, had all been tossed in. Now, there wasn’t much left.

At most, it could hold for another two hours.

And just now, Dong Zhao’s main reliance, his Sixth-tier Star Device, had been blasted back by two Sixth Tier Experts working together, with its main body damaged.

”Everyone, focus on recovering. If I can find an opportunity, I will charge out and use the last Sixth Tier Emblem to repel the Sixth Tier Experts. Then, you all make a quick breakthrough. With your speed, you should be able to reach the temporary star gate and escape before being overtaken,” instructed Dong Zhao.

Tang Hui frowned, ”Brother Dong, what about you?”

”Me?”

Dong Zhao smiled, ”I need to stay behind to hold off those Sixth Tier Experts, otherwise, none of us will be able to escape.”

Everyone fell silent. Suddenly, Tang Hui said, ”Brother Dong, you’ve already saved me twice on this journey. Let me be the rear guard.”

Upon hearing this, Dong Zhao shook his head, ”You’re not up for it.”

”None of you are suitable to be the rear guard. You can’t stop those four Sixth Tier Experts.

I have a Sixth-tier Star Device. In a critical moment, I can detonate the Star Device, which will at least buy you a hundred breaths’ head start.

I might even severely wound one or two of them.

Only I can be the rear guard.”

With this statement, everyone was silent.

Indeed, what Dong Zhao said was true, but going to one’s death...

”Alright, everyone focus on recovering and don’t think about anything else. Remember, on the way out, if anyone gets stopped, that person immediately becomes the last one to be the rear guard.

We need to save whoever we can.

If we’re all buried here, then the National Taoist Institute...”

”Watch out, they’re coming again!”

Sudden shock crossed Liu Qingzhu’s face, and they saw that outside the already battered gate of Green Snake Castle, hundreds of figures had once again gathered.

The lowest among them were at the Fourth Rank Ninth Layer Peak, each emanating a tremendous fluctuation of Star Power.

Dong Zhao’s face changed, ”Go, get ready to strike, we absolutely can’t let them concentrate their fire from a distance.”

These Alien Race members were also extremely cunning, knowing that Dong Zhao and his group were defending based on Green Snake Castle and had a defensive array in place.

They organized over a hundred long-range experts, who approached cautiously. Once they got close, they would focus their long-range fire on bombing Green Snake Castle.

If they allowed the Alien Race to succeed in their concentrated fire, it would blast apart the Origin Return Spiritual Light Array set up inside Green Snake Castle, leaving Dong Zhao and the others with no chance of survival.
