Guide to Raising a Supporting Male Lead

Chapter 44: What Can You Give Her?

This world was so unfair; there are people who were born with everything while the rest have to live like ants. This is power. It can decide another’s life and death, grasp another’s fate, and cause everyone else to bow down at its feet.

The boy looked at the absent minded Lin Xinyu and asked, ”Do you still want to kill him?”

At first Lin Xinyu nodded, but then he shook his head. There was no need to kill the Dean. Lin Xin had already cut off that man’s most important part and he was going to spend the rest of his life in prison. Even if Lin Xinyu didn’t know much, he at least understood that sparing the Dean’s life would be the greatest punishment for that man.

But what about punishment? The injury left behind still left its damage. Just as Lin Xin didn’t want anyone near her, likewise, he could only stand outside and imagine that he stood by her side. Everything was to no avail.

When the teenager saw the boy’s eyes drift towards the direction of Lin Xin’s room, he recalled the girl’s injury. She was like white piece of paper at first, but now she was stained. Xiao Tian felt sorry, but at the same time, he felt three points angrier; this anger led him to extend the Dean’s prison term indefinitely.

Even a stained piece of white paper can still be used to draw beautiful pictures, not to mention that this white paper was made of a high quality. He had no reason to give her up. She was still his private property. And what does that boy have with her? Were they lovers? How is that possible? Their relationship seemed different between that of brother and sister. Judging by how the boy held the scissors to kill the man who hurt the girl, the child was obviously filled with rage. Xiao Tian felt irritated.

The young master asked him coldly, ”What are you thinking about?”

He asked so fiercely that Lin Xinyu replied immediately, ”I was wondering if Lin Xin has woken up. Do you think she’ll want some water or a meal? What do you think she’d like to eat?”

The young master thought, ’he’s such a mother.’ He said with a laugh, ”Why would you want to do something so trivial? What she needs aren’t these, she needs a person who can protect her. What can you give her?”

What can I give her? Lin Xinyu asked himself. It seemed that the only thing he could offer in the past were food, but he also received those from the Dean who harmed her.

How ridiculous, there was nothing he could give her. Just as he had wishfully thought that he could give her the best things in this world, it was those same things he gave her that pushed her into the abyss. And now she was inflicted with the same pain he had suffered. What makes him qualified to resent her indifference?

When the teenager saw the boy bow his head in frustration, he said, ”I can cause the person who hurt her to die with just a single sentence, and yet you couldn’t harm that man in any way. That’s the difference between me and you.”

The young master’s realistic words were like a bloody knife, stabbing into Lin Xinyu’s chest and exposing his weakness underneath the sun. He covered his chest and gasped, trying to breathe in as much air as he could. He wanted to cry but he held back his tears, especially since he was in front of this man. He gritted his teeth, but his body could no longer bear his heart’s burden, so he fell flat on the ground, gasping.

The young master approached and looked down on him condescendingly. ”If you can’t give anything, don’t even try. How can a weak and vulnerable person like you be suitable for her?”

The wind blew across the sky, taking with it several white clouds, and the sky was a bright blue. Lin Xinyu lay on the grass as he quietly looked at the blue sky above his head.

If you can’t give anything, don’t even try.

A simple boy who had been living in his own world suddenly matured at this moment. A thought that he never had before arose in his heart: I want to be strong, strong enough to stand above the crowd. I want to stand on the highest mountain and tell the whole world that I’m not a weak person.
