The Heir is Here: Quiet Down, School Prince!

Chapter 138: You’re Welcome and Call Me the Good Samaritan

An Xiaxia’s cheeks turned pink right away.

That bastard! That fiend! That rotten swine!

He was making fun of her about that!

She stared at Sheng Yize, attempting to kill him with her death beam.

However, that didn’t work on Sheng Yize at all and she ended up being the one shrinking back under her duvet with cheeks so hot that she could fry eggs on them!

Luckily, Sheng Yize didn’t really mean to embarrass her and left the room shortly after those teasing words.

When there was no other sound in the room, An Xiaxia gingerly stuck her little head out of her duvet and ran into the bathroom with some pads.

After cleaning herself up, she climbed back into her bed and sat there staring blankly at the air as she held the handwarmer Sheng Yize had bought for her.

Come to think of it, Sheng Yize wasn’t as annoying as he had been in the beginning.

Because she really liked Rong Che, she used to follow the others in trashing Sheng Yize online back then. When she had done enough trashing, she actually began to seriously dislike him.

However, after she got to know Sheng Yize in real life, the impression he left on her was gradually changing.

Although he could be obnoxious every now and then, most of the time, she found Sheng Yize a nice person.

And there was that kiss… was it a joke or did he mean it?

An Xiaxia gave herself a headache trying to figure that out. She knocked her forehead with her knuckles, pulled the duvet over her head, and fell asleep.

When she woke up again, it was deep into the night.

The room was very quiet with only a lamp turned on, which gave off a dim yellow light.

A note had been left by the lamp.

She picked it up and saw that it was from Sheng Yize.

”I left your dinner in the pot. Eat it and don’t stay up.”

The tone sounded harsh and emotionless, but the handwriting looked vigorous, powerful, and had a hidden sharpness.

An Xiaxia pursed her lips, climbed out of bed, and went to the kitchen. Some porridge was indeed being kept warm in the electric cooker.

She filled a bowl with porridge for herself and sipped at it. A figure suddenly walked out of the shadows, which made An Xiaxia jump and almost drop her bowl.

”Who’s there?”

”Me.” The icy and nonchalant voice made An Xiaxia exhale in relief.

”Brother, you almost frightened me to death! What are you doing out of bed and in the kitchen?” An Xiaxia patted her chest, still shaken.

An Yibei snatched the bowl out of her hand mercilessly, took a few sips, and observed sharply, ”A quiet conscience can sleep through thunderstorms. So, what have you done?”

An Xiaxia shook her head repeatedly. ”Nothing!”

An Yibei stared at her for a moment and smiled. ”Are you still going to the music festival next year? I never see you practice these days. Are you going to give it up?”

An Xiaxia rubbed her head. Come to think of it, she had been slacking off for quite a while. T_T

”I’ll start practicing from tomorrow,” she promised in a tiny voice. Something seemed to dawn on An Yibei all of a sudden as he smiled ever so gently at An Xiaxia. ”I heard your phone’s gone for good? I have a gift for you.”

An Xiaxia’s face lit up as she looked at An Yibei expectantly.

Waaa! Her brother must have been kind enough to buy her a new phone!

An Yibei tossed her a phone with a smile.

”You’re welcome and you can call me the Good Samaritan.”

The look on An Xiaxia’s face turned from hope to despair.

Could someone please tell her what the heck was this Nokia candy bar which was as thick as a brick?

She pressed a random button to wake up the screen and the kitchen was immediately filled with the sound of some low quality stereo.

”It– it can’t be one of those grandpa phones, can it…” An Xiaxia felt like weeping, but had no tears to shed.

”Bingo!” The smile on An Yibei’s face reminded one of an old fox. ”How suitable it is for you, my dear little sister. Good night.”

He gave An Xiaxia a wave and left the kitchen, apparently very satisfied with himself.

An Xiaxia stood there looking up at the sky in despair.

What should she do about her wicked older brother? Someone please tell her!
