Mr Fu, I Really Love You

Lin Nuan nodded, then went over to squat down in front of Ji Yun. When she raised her head, she saw that Ji Yun’s face was already tear-streaked.

She trembled as she put out her hands, wanting to stroke Lin Nuan’s fair and exquisite small face. However, it was as if she was afraid that Lin Nuan would reject her. Just as her fingers were about to touch Lin Nuan’s face, she changed the direction of her hand, tucking the stray hair that had been messed up by the cold wind outside behind her ears.

Ji Yun laughed softly, her nasal voice sounding very strong. ”The Lin family has taken good care of you! Very good care of you…”

”En, even after they found out that I wasn’t a daughter of the Lin family, Grandpa, Grandma, Dad, Mom, Elder Brother… and Lin Ran… all of them treated me very well!”

Ji Yun smiled and didn’t say anything.

Ji Yun had never lived with Lin Nuan properly, and the two of them didn’t have many common topics to talk about.

The only common topic they shared was Lin Ran, but Ji Yun didn’t wish to mention her, fearing that Lin Nuan would feel upset.

The caregiver was telling Fu Huai’an about Ji Yun’s condition. She said that it didn’t seem to be good.

The caregiver that Fu Huai’an had hired had worked with quite a number of patients from wealthy families who suffered from mental illnesses. Some of them remained in a muddled state up until their deaths. Others would be awake for a short moment before they died, just like how some people would experience a momentary recovery of consciousness right when they were about to die.

The caregiver wasn’t sure if her judgment was right. She didn’t wish to bring it up recklessly, for fear that Lin Nuan would be worried. Therefore, she brought it up to Fu Huai’an, letting him decide if they should send Ji Yun to the hospital for a check-up.

Just as the caregiver was bringing it up to Fu Huai’an, Ji Yun also said slowly to Lin Nuan, ”I might… not have much time left!”

Lin Nuan smoothed out the blanket covering Ji Yun’s legs, thinking that Ji Yun was referring to the time that she’d be awake.

”Your father came to fetch me just now, but I wanted to talk to you before I go…” Ji Yun smiled lightly. ”When you were born, I was awake for two days and fed you with breast milk. But later on… you were sent away! I even forgot how you looked when you were young!”

Lin Nuan’s heart suddenly plummeted, and the hand that was holding onto the blanket paused as she looked up at Ji Yun.

It was only then that Ji Yun held onto Lin Nuan’s hand. ”I’m sorry that I wasn’t able to let you grow up by my side…”

”What you saw just now was only a dream. Don’t think too much about it! Lin Ran said that she wants to take you on an overseas trip during the Chinese New Year. I’m not sure if you have any recollection of her boyfriend. She brought him here to meet you. I reckon that it won’t be long before they get married…”

Ji Yun held Lin Nuan’s hand tightly, listening to her slightly rapid speech. She then said, ”Help me apologize to your mom in the Lin family. Your father and I owe her!”

Lin Nuan pursed her lips, and warm tears welled up in her eyes. However, she held them in, not letting them flow down.

Ji Yun looked very tired, as if her upper and lower eyelids were fighting. ”I want to sleep for a while…”

Lin Nuan nodded and personally helped her upstairs.

After letting Ji Yun settle down to sleep, Lin Nuan closed the door and came out. She felt very anxious, and when she saw Fu Huai’an standing outside the door, her eyes turned red. She walked over to hug his thin waist, burying her head into his chest.

Fu Huai’an gently stroked Lin Nuan’s long hair, kissing her head.

”I want to call and ask Lin Ran to come over!” Lin Nuan’s stifled voice rang out from Fu Huai’an’s chest.

”Alright!”

Since Fu Huai’an was already clear about Ji Yun’s condition, he didn’t stop her.

Seeing Lin Nuan standing in front of the window, hugging her arm with one hand as she called Lin Ran, Fu Huai’an gave Bai Jinyu a call. He asked about Ji Yun’s sudden state of consciousness and how they should handle such a situation.

Bai Jinyu was an expert concerning neurosurgery, but he still needed to seek the help of someone more professional in the area of psychological studies.

Bai Jinyu said that he’d make a call to ask about it…

Lin Nuan had just hung up the call with Lin Ran. After some thought, she called Lu Hanzi, telling her about Ji Yun’s condition.
