Mr Fu, I Really Love You

Chapter 359: She Was Not a Remarkable Person!

The grievances and unhappiness that had built up within Lin Nuan, from the time Chu Xun appeared at Tianfu Bay to when Lu Jinnan had a talk with her, immediately vanished without a trace.

A surge of warmth engulfed her and her eyes, and she couldn’t stop the tears from falling.

She had tried to calm herself down in the toilet just now, but her emotions were taking over again.

She was a nobody, and she had absolutely nothing that could be of help to Fu Huai’an, so why did he choose her?

She was not a remarkable person!

From outside the room, she overheard Bai Jinyu telling Xu Wanwan to take a look in the toilet as Lin Nuan hadn’t returned after such a long time. Lin Nuan finally decided to pull herself together. She knocked and went back into the room.

”Sis-in-law, why were you gone for so long?”

Xu Wanwan, who had just walked to the door, smiled and asked Lin Nuan as she pushed the door open and entered.

Fu Huai’an had returned to his seat.

Lin Nuan gave a weak smile, and her eyes were red. After she sat down, she said, ”My flu seems to have become worse, so I was held up…”

Her voice certainly sounded more nasal then before.

Her phone lying on the table vibrated yet again—it was Wen Moshen calling a second time. Lin Nuan ended the call and sent him an automated message that said she would call him back later.

”If you don’t feel well, why don’t we go back to rest…” Fu Huai’an said as he rested one arm on the back of Lin Nuan’s seat.

It would be rather impolite to walk away in the middle of the meal. Lin Nuan shook her head. ”I can hang in there a while longer.”

”Sis-in-law, don’t push yourself!” said Bai Jinyu. ”Go back and rest if you’re not feeling well, you’re one of us, so don’t insist on formalities. Also, if your flu does become worse, Fu’s going to put the blame on us, and we won’t be able to handle that…”

”Yes, there’s plenty of opportunities in the future where we can have meals together… there’s no rush!” Tang Zheng reassured Lin Nuan. ”Get well soon, and we will have plenty of chances to gather for meals in the future!”

The tip of her nose became even redder, and Lin Nuan took out a piece of tissue and wiped her eyes. ”I’m so sorry, it’s my first time meeting you guys and I have to leave early…” she smiled and said.

Gu Qingcheng, who had kept silent all this while, finally spoke. ”We understand!”

The phone that Lin Nuan clutched in her hand wouldn’t stop vibrating. Before she stepped out of the room, Lin Nuan took a glance and saw that it was Liang Mulan calling. She presumed that Liang Mulan must have seen the news of Lin Nuan online. She sniffled and felt sadness overcome her.

The only people who knew about Lin Nuan’s trip to Iraq were Lin Chen, Bai Xiaonian, and Song Yao. No one else knew…

Lin Nuan wondered how Liang Mulan must have felt when she saw the photos of Lin Nuan in Iraq.

Lin Nuan could choose to ignore Wen Moshen’s calls, but she had to answer Liang Mulan’s calls.

Fu Huai’an knew this. He stretched out his hand to help Lin Nuan with her jacket and bag. ”Go ahead and answer the call, I’ll wait for you!”

Lin Nuan nodded and clutched her phone as she walked in the direction of the staircase.

Fu Huai’an watched Lin Nuan’s back view as he lit up a cigarette. As the white smoke dispersed, Fu Huai’an’s gaze darkened.

Someone picked up the call at the other end of the line.

”Mom…”

The moment Lin Nuan uttered that, the tears started flowing, and she became choked with emotions.

On the other end of the line, Liang Mulan started sobbing when she heard Lin Nuan’s voice. No other words were exchanged. Even though the sobbing was soft, Lin Nuan could hear it clearly.

She was Lin Nuan’s mother, and yet, she had no idea that her daughter had been to Iraq and had been through so much!

Liang Mulan had seen the photos of Lin Nuan with blood flowing down her head. She thought of how Lin Nuan had gone through a near-death experience. As Lin Nuan’s mother, how could she not be worried?

This was her precious little girl whom everyone doted on since she was a baby, the daughter that they had tried to protect at all costs. This was her daughter, a girl who had never experienced a hard time in her entire life!

Lin Nuan had gone through this life and death experience in Iraq, and Liang Mulan had been completely clueless about it even though she was Lin Nuan’s mother.
