Mr Fu, I Really Love You

Chapter 342: They Intended to Fight!

Everyone was speculating the identity of the man who had broken the iron lady’s heart. He must be quite remarkable!

The gossipy ones even came up with a list of names, as if they were really concerned about Chu Xun’s happiness.

Lin Nuan and her team were in the meeting room, listening to Miss Xia and the other colleagues discuss the details of having Liu Mingchen on the program.

Liu Mingchen was going to touch on a sensitive topic, and there was a lot to take into consideration.

Lin Nuan’s thoughts drifted away… Perhaps Chu Xun thought it might be embarrassing if she were to bump into Lin Nuan in the office and so she decided to be absent today?

Miss Xia could tell that Lin Nuan was distracted. She put down her pen and pressed her hand firmly against the table as she asked, ”Lin Nuan, you’re the one who provided us with this information, and you’re also Liu Mingchen’s contact. What do you think?”

Lin Nuan snapped back to reality. She cleared her throat and said, ”I think perhaps we could try to invite the pharmaceutical company’s representative onto the show.”

Miss Xia was taken aback by Lin Nuan’s suggestion. She paused and nodded as she looked at the rest of the team. ”What do the rest of you think?”

”This isn’t a debate program, are we supposed to let the pharmaceutical representative have a debate with the Nobel Prize winner? I don’t think this is appropriate. I don’t quite agree with Lin Nuan’s suggestion…”

”I think I get what Lin Nuan means. We can’t just hear one side of the story. We need to clarify matters and seek the truth. But we can’t let the ratings we are chasing be the judge of what’s right or wrong.” Someone who thought otherwise piped in.

Lin Nuan nodded in agreement.

Another colleague said, ”There was a movie recently about cancer patients having difficulties accessing their medication. This topic is trending currently, so we should seize the opportunity to interview Liu Mingchen. As the winner of the Nobel Prize, if he were to come onto the show to comment on this topic of contention and debate it out with the pharmaceutical company, I think this will definitely help push our ratings up…”

They spent the rest of the meeting discussing whether they should invite the pharmaceutical representative onto the program. At one point, things got so heated that they almost broke into a fight. Miss Xia had no choice but to end the meeting.

…

Bai Xiaonian and her morning news team were having their meeting in the next room. As both programs were under Miss Xia, the morning news meeting had to be helmed by Miss Xia’s assistant, Yang Yuze.

As the teams from both meetings streamed out of the meeting rooms at the same time, Bai Xiaonian looked at Lin Nuan and said, ”Your meeting sounded really intense, it was so loud we could hear the commotion from our meeting room. We thought a fight was going to break out and we were about to bet on how long the fight was going to last!”

Lin Nuan opened the lid of her mug and took a sip of water as she nodded. ”They really intended to fight!”

As she spoke, her phone started vibrating in her pocket. She put the lid back on her mug and took out her phone to take a look…

It was Lu Jinnan calling!

She answered the call, and Lu Jinnan’s deep voice could be heard at the other end of the line. ”I’m just opposite the broadcast building now, can you come over?”

It didn’t matter that she didn’t like Lu Jinnan, since he was looking for her, it must have something to do with Fu Huai’an.

More and more people started streaming out from the meeting rooms, and Lin Nuan and Bai Xiaonian were blocking the way.

Bai Xiaonian was making eyes at Lin Nuan, curious to know what was going on. Lin Nuan shook her head, pushed her mug to Bai Xiaonian, and walked to a corner to continue the conversation. ”Mr. Lu, can’t you tell me this over the phone?”

”If this was something I could tell you over the phone, would I bother driving all the way here?” Lu Jinnan snapped curtly, not bothering to hide his disdain and dislike for Lin Nuan.
