Mr Fu, I Really Love You

Chapter 234: Miss Lin, You’re Awake!

There was no doubt that using the information would affect Fu Huai’an to a certain extent. Lin Nuan was worried about him.

Fu Huai’an remained silent for a moment before saying, ”If it does affect me… are you not going to save your father and second uncle?”

Suddenly, it felt as though something heavy was weighing on Lin Nuan’s chest. She was in a huge dilemma. If it truly would affect Fu Huai’an, she didn’t want to use the information. But… what if it was the only way to save her father and second uncle?

”Lin Nuan…” Fu Huai’an said, ”However this may affect me, nothing matters more than your father’s life. You had two fathers, and you’ve already lost one, you can’t lose your father again.”

Lin Nuan held back tears. She wanted to thank him but couldn’t bring herself to say it.

Listening to the torrential rain, she felt an immense sense of gratitude, but she was also on tenterhooks.

…

The next day, Lin Nuan woke up early in the morning. When she went down, Auntie Li had already prepared breakfast and was laying the table.

”Miss Lin, you’re awake!” Auntie Li smiled at Lin Nuan as she wiped her hands on her apron.

Lin Nuan smiled and nodded. She told Auntie Li to let Tuan Tuan sleep in a little longer and to tell him when he woke up that she would be picking him up in the afternoon.

It was the weekend, and she had a recording with Shi Hanchu in the morning at nine a.m. Before that, Lin Nuan had to make a trip to Lin Organization to pass the information to Lin Chen, and she didn’t have time for breakfast.

She booked a ride to the office of Lin Organization. She stepped out, holding the file in her hand as she hesitated.

Haicheng was still damp and humid after the heavy rain. Lin Nuan stood by the roadside, staring at the puddles of rainwater.

She held onto her phone and pondered for a long time. Finally, she let out a huge sigh and walked into the building.

When Lin Nuan arrived, Lin Chen was sitting at his office table while having a video conference with the President of the Swiss Bank.

Lin Chen’s assistant led Lin Nuan into the office and left.

Lin Chen’s piercing gaze turned towards Lin Nuan, who was walking through the door. He tapped his cigarette on the ashtray and signaled to Lin Nuan to take a seat on the sofa.

Lin Nuan could tell that Lin Chen was in discussion with regards to the bank loan. She sat down, placed the information on the coffee table, and glanced at Lin Chen.

Lin Chen was wearing a light blue shirt without a tie, and his shirt collar was wide open. The other party could be heard questioning the Lin Organization’s Hua City project through his Bluetooth earpiece.

Lin Chen listened and smiled as he slowly took a sip from his teacup, his Adam’s apple moving.

Lin Chen put down his teacup and spoke with a smiling expression on his distinct features. He spoke slowly, in a mellow and calm voice in fluent British-accented English, which further enhanced his prestige.

Back when she was much younger, Lin Jingquan used to bring Lin Nuan to the office.

He would sit at the office table and worked while Lin Nuan would do her puzzles or homework.

When Lin Nuan was stumped by one of her puzzles, Lin Jingquan would walk over, sit on the sofa, and help Lin Nuan solve her puzzle with precision. At that time… Lin Nuan had felt that Lin Jingquan was an almighty person.

She snapped back from her nostalgia and realized that ten minutes had passed. Lin Chen didn’t seem to be ending his conversation soon, so Lin Nuan stood up and walked over to the office table.

Lin Chen lifted his eyes to look at Lin Nuan as she took a pen from the pen holder and scribbled something on a piece of paper.

When she was done, Lin Nuan put the cap back on the pen and raised the paper in front of Lin Chen.

Lin Chen put out his cigarette and reached for the paper. The words, ’When you are free, do take a look at the information on the coffee table. I have a recording later, and I have to make a move now’, were delicately written on the paper.
