Mr Fu, I Really Love You

Chapter 232: Start a Relationship With Love and Become Family Eventually

”Mr. Lu, you don’t have to frighten me with these words. I’m not a young and naive girl who’s easily scared.”

Lin Nuan’s voice was extra crisp and clear in the rain. She spoke calmly, her voice still audible even with the splattering of rain.

”If you meant taking a risk, I believe… Fu Huai’an knew exactly what he was getting into when he agreed to handle this information.”

Lu Jinnan tapped on his cigarette and gazed at Lin Nuan in silence.

She tightened her arms at the side of her body as she felt her anxieties and worries slowly dissipating, and her tone became even calmer.

”You may think I am ungrateful after I say this… The information is so important and can save my father and second uncle. If so, then it’s safe to assume that as long as Fu Huai’an still has this information in his hands, the other party won’t be able to do anything to him even if they managed to trace the leak to Fu Huai’an’s law firm. Mr. Lu, am I right to say this?”

If that wasn’t the case, Lu Jinnan would never have surrendered the information to Lin Nuan, seeing as how he was so protective of Fu Huai’an.

For the first time, Lu Jinnan was rendered speechless by a lady.

Gazing at Lin Nuan’s bright and transparent eyes, Lu Jinnan remained silent.

After a short pause, Lu Jinnan said, ”And this is why… I always say all women are shrewd! I hope Miss Lin will always be able to come up with reasonable excuses, to always be so unsullied and incorruptible like a white lotus flower, to always feel so justified and have no qualms about making use of people!”

Lu Jinnan was certain that Lin Nuan was so analytical and clear-headed because she wanted to relieve her own guilt for making use of Fu.

Still holding on to his cigarette, Lu Jinnan took the file tucked under his arm and flung it at Lin Nuan in frustration. Then he turned and walked down the steps of the porch.

It wasn’t too forceful but Lin Nuan still felt a pang of pain on her chest.

Lin Nuan didn’t manage to catch the file in time, and it dropped onto the floor.

The lights of the SUV parked outside the villa flashed and the side mirrors slowly extended out.

Lin Nuan lifted her eyes and gazed at Lu Jinnan’s back view in the rain, trying to contain her anger.

”I hope Mr. Lu will be able to meet a girl someday, one who has true feelings for you and is not just out to make use of you. To be able to start a relationship with love and become family eventually.”

Lu Jinnan, who was opening the gates of the villa, stopped in his tracks. Lin Nuan’s words were like a sharp knife stabbing into his heart.

It felt like she was rebuking him.

After so many years of counseling sessions with Lu Hanzi, Lin Nuan had become somewhat of an expert herself. She could tell by Lu Jinnan’s words of prejudice that he must have had a bad experience with a woman before.

It was similar to how Lin Nuan had refused to let anyone get close to her after Lin Xia committed suicide.

If Lu Jinnan didn’t experience something as hurtful, he wouldn’t have displayed such animosity towards all women.

Lu Jinnan slammed the gates and strode towards Lin Nuan.

Staring straight ahead at the unfriendly Lu Jinnan, Lin Nuan didn’t move an inch. She tensed her arms and looked at him, unperturbed.

Lu Jinnan stepped on the file and stood in front of Lin Nuan, his tall stature blocking off most of the light. Half of his profile and refined features were shrouded in darkness, and the other half was lit. He looked overbearing.

He taunted in a frosty tone, ”So did you and Fu started out with love? How can you be so certain of something you’ve yet to experience?”
