Mr Fu, I Really Love You

Chapter 224: You’ve Got the Girl Wrapped Around Your Finger, Haven’t You?

Lin Nuan pursed her lips and remained silent, her eyes teary.

”I am on it, don’t worry; your father will be fine.”

He said in his usual deep and rich voice, in a mild and calm manner that was authoritative and convincing.

Lin Nuan choked back tears and whimpered, ”Uh…”

”I’ll be making a trip to Jincheng this afternoon. Tuan Tuan will be back at Tian Fuwan later. If you’re available, why don’t you accompany him tonight.”

”I can do that…” Lin Nuan answered gently.

Even if she didn’t owe Fu Huai’an such a huge favor, she would have been happy to do it.

Lin Nuan’s feelings towards Tuan Tuan had evolved over time. She would have made the trip to Tian Fu Wan even if she had something on at night.

”Go home now, don’t stay out any longer. Rest… get some sleep.” Fu Huai’an urged as he could hear the sound of raindrops pattering on her umbrella on the other end of the line.

”Uh…”

Lin Nuan heaved a sigh of relief upon ending the call. She felt like a huge burden had removed from her shoulders.

On the other end of the line…

Fu Huai’an had been leaning against the table, he put his phone down and straightened himself. He tapped his cigarette on the ashtray and had just lifted it to his lips when Lu Jinnan, who had been sitting on the sofa, said, ”Has Miss Lin finally stopped putting on airs? She’s finally asking you to help her father?”

Lu Jinnan smirked knowingly.

Tang Zheng looked up from where he was perusing the documents, turned towards Fu Huai’an and said, ”Fu, when you said you had to make a trip to Jincheng today, was it because of Lin Nuan’s father?”

Lu Jinnan raised his brow. ”What do you think?”

Fu Huai’an had worked his way up by gaining a strong foothold in Jincheng.

His law firm, which was the most prestigious law firm at the moment, guarded many secrets of the upper class.

Drastic measures had to be taken to help Lin Nuan’s father, and Fu Huai’an had to make the trip personally to retrieve some sensitive information.

Seeing that Fu Huai’an had already walked towards the sofa and taken the suit lying on it, Tang Zheng elbowed Fu Huai’an’s long legs and said, ”I heard you gave Wang Quan such a good bashing that he almost concussed and even lost his front tooth. Such a heroic act for her and now you are going one step further by helping your future father-in-law… I think you’ve gotten the girl wrapped around your finger, haven’t you?”

Before Fu Huai’an could say a word, Tang Zheng closed the file and cleared his throat. He pretended to throw himself against Fu Huai’an’s legs and started to mimic Lin Nuan. ”Huai’an… You saved my father and me, how can I ever repay you? I will have to marry you and devote my entire life to you!”

Lu Jinnan laughed and said gleefully, ”If Lin Nuan looked the way you do when she’s saying this… Fu will want to throw her father back in prison! Hahaha.”

Fu Huai’an bit his cigarette as he put on his suit. He observed the two role-playing through a veil of smoke, and it seemed as though there was a twinkle of a smile in his deep gaze.

Tang Zheng pretended to tug at Fu Huai’an’s trousers, pointed at Lu Jinnan, and exclaimed mockingly, ”Huai’an, Lu Jinnan is bullying me… I am so unhappy; you must punish him for me!”

Lu Jinnan exaggeratedly clutched his chest and cried out, ”Oh my gosh, my heart has been attacked by something vile… Quick give Bai a call and get him to bring three lollipops here to save me!”

Fu Huai’an adjusted the collar of his shirt and buttoned his suit. He removed the cigarette from his lips and said indifferently, ”Lu Jinnan is the one who made the arrangements for someone to liaise with Jia He. Now that this matter has been exposed, we won’t be able to hide it any longer. They are bound to make an issue of it. Tang Xi from Jia He is not a man to be trifled with. Lu Jinnan, you had better focus on dealing with this matter.”
