Mr Fu, I Really Love You

Chapter 208: What If My Mother Finds Out?

She felt sweat on her palms. She couldn’t even bring herself to greet the two of them.

Lu Jinnan glanced at her nonchalantly and grinned at Wang Quan. ”I haven’t seen you in nearly a year, Sir Wang, who knows how you’ve been enjoying life…”

”My mother threw me in Haicheng’s radio station—she said I had to learn through trial from the bottom!” Wang Quan said indifferently.

”And this is…” Lu Jinnan looked at Lin Nuan intentionally.

”My girlfriend. Lin Nuan is from Haicheng’s television station—she hosted the ”Morning News Daily” segment and moved on to ”A Sunday Date”. Her show is airing this Sunday at eight. Remember to support her show!” Wang Quan said as he deliberately put his hand on her waist to make a cuddling gesture.

Lin Nuan felt goosebumps on her arms. She furrowed her eyebrows, disgusted, and pushed his hand away. ”I’m not his…”

”Sir Wang sure is lucky!” Lu Jinnan ignored Lin Nuan and smiled at Wang Quan as he chatted with him.

Lin Nuan felt complete anxiety in her heart. Her face faded to a pale color, and she kept her lips sealed.

Wang Quan was slightly unhappy after losing face due to Lin Nuan’s gestures. Instead, he decided to grip her wrist.

Noticing Lin Nuan resisting, Bai Jinyu tried to pacify the situation. Yet he was gestured by Lu Jinnan to stop.

”I still have to bring Lin Nuan to meet my mother. Do excuse me, Chief Lu,” Wang Quan said as he put his hand on her waist again, and he pinched it tightly as if it were a warning.

Seeing Wang Quan and Lin Nuan walk away, Bai Jinyu asked Lu Jinnan with an irritated expression, ”What are you doing? Pretending not to know Lin Nuan? She’s on Brother Fu’s side.”

”Lin Nuan seems to have good taste. She’d find whoever could help when her family is in a crisis! So what is Brother Fu working for?” Lu Jinnan drank his wine and glanced across the room, seeing his loser-like brother following Bai Xiaonian into the room.

…

Wang Quan’s mother was a studious-looking middle-aged woman. She had managed to keep her figure in excellent shape for one her age.

She sized up Lin Nuan from top to bottom, then smiled at her son. She nodded and stated in a pleasant mood: ”Since you are Wang Quan’s girlfriend, I will take care of this matter. I know you are concerned about your father, how about you come to my house after the banquet ends and we can talk about it. Wang Quan, make sure you accompany your girlfriend.”

Lin Nuan nodded and thanked Wang Quan’s mother.

Somebody then came to chat with his mother. Lin Nuan knowingly backed away and tried to look for the washroom to wash her hands and wrists, but she was afraid to bump into Fu Huai’an.

Just as she was having an internal battle, Wang Quan lowered his head and whispered in her ear, ”My mother is only willing to help you if you act as my girlfriend. If you keep trying to keep a distance from me, what happens when she exposes us?”

Lin Nuan furrowed her eyebrows.

”How about we go outside? You won’t need to worry since it’s full of people out there. The point is, we can’t let my mother notice our distance—she has pretty good observation skills being in her position as the Chief Director!”

Lin Nuan hesitated for a moment and glanced sideways at the window. Some people were indeed chatting in the yard outside. Since she was afraid to meet Fu Huai’an, she was in a rush to get out of that place.

She nodded and proceeded out first, without waiting for Wang Quan to lead the way.

Wang Quan followed her with his hands in his pockets. He slightly gulped as he watched her tall, slender figure from behind her.

Just as they walked outside, the banquet officially began. Those who were standing outside began to make their way back in.
