Mr Fu, I Really Love You

Chapter 174: Lin Nuan Couldn’t Fall Asleep

In front of the tombstones of Jiang Ming’ an and Lu Xiangsi, Fu Huai’an ignited his lawyer’s qualification certificate, his eyes barely open. He lit his cigarette in the swaying flames amongst the drizzling rain, his facial features appearing even more defined when reflected by the light of the fire. His eyes revealed an unfathomable quality.

On July 3, 2014, Fu Huai’an took over the Kaide Group under the Fu family. He used solid, hardcore measures to intimidate the board of directors of the Kaide Group, then took Tuan Tuan to the United States.

After a year of silence, in August 2015, Fu Huai’an’s name once again appeared in the Global Financial News. He was no longer the lawyer without a single lost case, but the financial tycoon who ruled Wall Street. His reputation and wealth commanded respect.

On New Year’s Eve of 2018, Fu Huai’an took Tuan Tuan back home. It was snowing in Haicheng.

On that day, the Haicheng radio station replaced the giant poster of the main host of their channel.

The black car carrying Fu Huai’an stopped before a red light on the main road at the entrance of the radio station.

Sitting in the back seat, Fu Huai’an crossed his legs and looked outside at the falling snow. His deep gaze fell on Lin Nuan’s figure in the center-left of the poster.

On the poster, she was wearing a white suit, arms folded in front of her chest, her long hair slightly curled. In her light makeup, her delicate facial features and serene smile was visibly attractive. The font with a burning effect next to her figure read: Music Host, Lin Nuan.

Unlike the little girl back in 2014 who said, ”You need this more than I do…”, after four years, the childlike quality faded away in Lin Nuan’s clear eyes—replaced by the charm of a more mature woman.

Seeing that Fu Huai’an had been staring at the only woman on the poster, Lu Jinnan, who didn’t notice that Tuan Tuan had already woken up, laughed jokingly and said, ”You’ve been staring at the girl on the poster, how do you like her? ”

Fu Huai’an’s lips formed a faint smile as he fixed his eyes on him.

Tuan Tuan opened up the suit of Fu Huai’an climbed onto him. His tiny, chubby hands embraced Fu Huai’an’s neck as stared into Fu Huai’an’s gaze. The inexplicable feeling of affection invaded his small heart.

He asked in his soft, childish voice, ”Mother?”

Since Tuan Tuan began to learn to speak, every time he noticed Fu Huai’an would stare at a woman a bit longer, he would ask, without exception, and be denied.

But that time, Fu Huai’an held Tuan Tuan in one hand and locked his eyes on Lin Nuan’s poster for a long while without uttering anything.

Is it mother?

Tuan Tuan thought Lin Nuan must be his mother—the mother that gave him a second shot at life.

Tuan Tuan didn’t get an answer, but his small heart was thumping. He moved near the window of the car and propped up his tiny chubby hands onto the window glass. His round face was nearly attached to it as his black and bright eyes reflected Lin Nuan’s faint smile.

Tuan Tuan didn’t know why, but suddenly his heart filled with warm flows of love and his eyes grew wet.

As the green light flashed, the car took off.

As Lin Nuan’s poster gradually drifted away from Tuan Tuan, the little one quickly stepped on his seat and looked back from the rear windshield until the poster burred away into a small dot.

Lin Nuan couldn’t sleep all evening.

She was clearly drained—yet as soon as she closed her eyes, she saw that soft, fair little baby back in 2014, who was nibbling on her finger. She suddenly didn’t feel sleepy at all.

Fu Huai’an said that Tuan Tuan was passed to him by a friend near death. Then it was Xiangsi and her husband.
