Mr Fu, I Really Love You

Chapter 170: Your Gun Is Locked

Fu Huai’an was surprised at her wit; she even knew how to bring Allah into her plead.

He heard the other seven team members report their location in his earpiece. In the high temperature, his sweat continuously ran down his defined jaw and dripped down as he took over the high ground. He used his aiming mirror to observe the location and number of the armed forces on the square. He then said calmly, ”Li Chong, you cover the west side of the square. Xie Feng will take care of the East. Wang Man will attack from the back side while Rock and Liu Hong will relocate the hostages while keeping them calm. Qin Zhe will protect them, and Dou Zi will wait for my signal to light up the bomb. Feng Yang and I will cut off their troops from behind, over and out!”

Fu Huai’an aimed for the armed force member who was already pointing a gun towards Lin Nuan’s chest. He was yanking on the baby’s blankets and yelling for her to hand it over. She shut her eyes in fear but still held on to the baby with all her strength as she hunched over. The baby was crying weakly.

Fu Huai’an narrowed his eyes and pulled the trigger.

As soon as the sound of the rifle set off, there were gunshots all around him and chaos set in.

Fu Huai’an was in Iraq was because of Lu Xiangsi and Jiang Ming’an.

When the war in Iraq began, Jiang Ming’an’s father back in China, Jiang Chengyuan, had found Fu Huai’an and informed him that the Jiang Company’s senior executive kept arguing about the matter of sending out a jet to fetch back the employees remaining in Iraq. He felt the price was too high to pay, but Jiang Ming’an and Lu Xiangsi’s lives were in grave danger, and he asked Fu Huai’an to think of a solution.

Fu Huai’an didn’t let his friends’ words hold him back and asked Jiang Ming’an’s good friend Xie Jingqiu to borrow a private jet. He rushed to Iraq by himself and decided to save the people after arriving. He didn’t expect to meet his previous team members from his old division after getting off the jet. He knew that their common objective was to save the fellow Chinese trapped in Iraq. His members asked their superiors to let Fu Huai’an join the rescue team.

Previously in the special armed forced, Fu Huai’an led the Water Ghost division with great efficiency to complete their missions. He was called an exceptional commander. His superiors had tried everything to keep him when he was leaving the army back then.

Despite this, since it had been years since Fu Huai’an was in the army, the superiors were concerned that Fu Huai’an would lack cohesion with the members in the division carrying out the mission and rejected the proposal.

The leader of the division used to be Fu Huai’an’s assistant. As he saw his determination in proceeding to the fighting zone, he prepared weapons and attire for him without letting their superiors know, and let him follow their team to set out.

Yet along the whole journey, Fu Huai’an demonstrated impeccable and accurate judgment of the situation, abundant experience, and surprisingly good leadership skills. That together with the legends surrounding him in the army and the fact that the leader of their pack, Qing Zhe, was a previous member of his Water Ghost Division, Fu Huai’an naturally became the center of the division there.

The team of nine ended the fight in a fast and furious manner and eradicated the group of armed forces.

When Fu Huai’an found Lin Nuan and the baby, she was hiding in the grass pile in the goat enclosure. Her ring finger was placed in the child’s mouth while she held the gun shakily with her right hand. She shut her eyes and pulled on the trigger in madness, yet there was no gunshot sound.

”Your gun is locked.”

In that bright afternoon, as she heard someone speaking her mother tongue, she realized she must have finally met the Grim Reaper and nearly passed out.

As she opened her eyes, she looked up at a man who was holding a rifle. He stood against the light, his tall figure shadowing her and the baby who were huddling together in the corner.
