Mr Fu, I Really Love You

Chapter 167: Blocked All I Had to Say!

”I know, in your eyes, my actions and my words are very contradictory now. Since I know what I want and what you can’t offer me, there’s no reason for me to continue meddling with you. If I end up in bed with you again after today, I suppose it would be because of my inability to resist your charms—hence my emotions and logic are in a constant battle, leaving me caught in between.”

”So now that you’re aware of the situation, you mean my charms aren’t strong enough for you—which made your logic take over?” Fu Huai’an lowered his deep voice considerably.

There was a long silence in the room.

The soft sounds from the air conditioner were very clear.

Lin Nuan almost made the glass of cold water in her palms turn warm.

As long as a man reached Fu Huai’an’s level, it was impossible for him not to be proud. He’d more often than not choose to protect his own pride over his feelings for a woman.

Unless it was a man with no character, who could use every low trick in the book to get the woman he wanted.

But Lin Nuan believed he wasn’t the latter.

Lin Nuan had the nerve to say it simply because his character wasn’t bad and he wouldn’t be too forceful on a woman.

Fu Huai’an kept his unfathomable eyes half open while he smoked his cigarette, his slender fingers playing with the lighter as if he were listening to her seriously.

As the silence dragged on, Lin Nuan felt more uneasy, as if she were sitting on needles.

She made herself too clear. There was no room left for negotiation, either for her or Fu Huai’an.

He couldn’t offer her the sense of security she wanted. The simple thought of the rumors surrounding him and the thirsty girls around him waiting for a chance scared Lin Nuan.

It wasn’t like she didn’t see news about him before she officially crossed paths with him.

A year ago, academy winner Zhang Ruomin decided to go all out and confess her love for Fu Huai’an on an award show. Despite everyone knowing she was against marriage, she still claimed she was willing to cook and get down in the kitchen for Fu Huai’an. If he were willing to accept her, then she would wait for him to pick her up after the award show.

Yet she waited in the cold wind until midnight with the reporters and paparazzi. After receiving a call, she left in tears and disappeared from the public’s eye.

At that time, Lin Nuan thought if the man called Fu Huai’an hadn’t given her a tiny string of hope, why would she have such courage to do that?

Even if she loved him until there was no going back, she would only decide to go all out on the award show if she felt there was hope.

There were far too many females surrounding Fu Huai’an, and they were all great women.

Lin Nuan was a coward. She’d rather settle than have a gem in her hands and be worried all day that it’d be stolen. Even before that could happen, she would have tormented herself sick.

What she was more afraid of was when she gave her true heart to someone, irrevocably, only to lose her temper because of all the girls surrounding him and hear him say, ”It’s tiring enough for a man to take care of business all day, how could you lack this basic understanding!”

She was well aware of her personality flaws. That’s why she dared to assert a man with his status and identity simply wasn’t her match.

As he finished his cigarette, Fu Huai’an put it out and whipped another into the corner of his mouth.

LIn Nuan couldn’t tell what he felt right then—whether it was anger or relief. She felt uneasy as she realized he was so unreadable in all his movements.
