Chapter 949: Chapter 948 The Current Pharaoh Chapter 949: Chapter 948 The Current Pharaoh [Capital City – Megalansui]

Captial City had developed a similar technology tree to Han Dong’s pre-existing world and had already fully entered the electronic information era.

With the assistance of Fate Space, the technological advancements in the Capital City were progressing at an exceptionally rapid pace, also deriving some special technologies that complied with the law of energy conservation from the main technology tree.

Similar to Holy City’s [Royal Thirteen Knights], there was a corresponding organizational structure in the Capital City, briefly named [High Tech Deca Alliance].

It included currently known top-level companies like [Tesla Energy], [Schrodinger Mechanics Research Institute], [Curie Chemical], and [Mendel Biotech], which altogether held the core technology and core military power.

Regarding the Big Expedition that was currently being carried out by the Holy City, the Capital City held a completely opposing view.

The Capital City believed that humanity was in a period of rapid development.

They only needed chain-type investigative missions and appropriate small-scale expeditions to eliminate the threats to the main city.

There was basically no need to risk losing half of their core military power for the so-called Big Expedition… the disadvantages outweighed the advantages.

In their view, with the existence of Fate Space, the progression speed of humanity was greater than that of the demons.

As long as they ensured that the main city was not breached, eventually humanity’s total combat power would equate to, or even surpass that of the demons… at that time, it would be the best moment to launch a Big Expedition, or even a world war, to reclaim territory.

Nowadays,

All the people of the Capital City were hunkered down within their technology-driven city.

Similar to the Holy City, this nation-wide city also had distinctions of high and low superiority within, and even compared to the Holy City, it was excessively more so.

The lowest-ranking civilian areas were strictly monitored by smart machinery, even unmanned reconnaissance drones meticulously supervising every civilian’s daily routine, imposing strict control over all aspects.

They even implemented an ‘eugenics and prolific breeding’ policy to ensure a sufficient number of engineers were produced each year.

At the same time,

In the Engineers’ District, inside a computer building directly affiliated with the [Turing Model] of the Deca Company,

One of the managers was submerging his body inside a ‘data pool’, that is, buried among tens of millions of data cables, his body even showing a state of data dispersion.

Turing Model Company, project manager and senior engineer—Ed Louis.

His rank and status, translated to Holy City’s terms, was roughly equivalent to a deputy commander of a squad (one rank lower than a puppet guard commander like Knight Charlie).

However, this Manager Ed was only thirty-six years old.

He had broken through to the fifth level as an engineer three years prior and had reached even higher levels… it could be said that he was exceptionally gifted and with a promising future.

At that moment,

His special training in the data torrent had abruptly paused.

Only due to a faint disturbance of [The Power of the World] in Ed’s consciousness.

“Hmm? Who’s causing trouble!”

Directly fusing his body into the data cables and transferring himself via data transmission, he transported himself to the closest computer branch near the entrance of True Fate, using his authority to check on the recently entered Capital City teams in [True Fate].

Soon, two files were returned to Han Dong’s hands, “The son of Tesla’s boss and the researcher Novikov from Mendel Biotech…

The former is almost impossible.

But this Novikov is quite suspicious. This guy is known for his particularly unpleasant personality. According to the information recorded, he was directly responsible for the deaths of over ten other human participants.

The indirect incidents must have already broken through the hundreds.

Moreover, [Prometheus] corresponds to a fourth-tier level.

As a fifth-tier engineer, deliberately bringing low-rank teammates, and using costly biorobots to lower the overall rank to enter the world of [Prometheus]… He clearly had this planned.

To handle matters involving world sovereignty and not report to me in advance, but directly go and cause trouble… very interesting.
