Chapter 1077: Chapter 121: Where in the Mainland Is the Path to Immortality (83) — Provisionally Called the Great Thousand Mainland

“Xu Fu?” Long Xiruo was surprised, “The same Xu Fu who once searched for the elixir of immortality for Emperor Shihuang?”

The Heavenly Heart Seventieth Generation nodded slowly, revealing a secret passed down from one generation to the next within the Clothed Dao.

“Xu Fu… or rather, the first of the Heavenly Heart, hailed from the true Penglai.”

The Heavenly Heart Seventieth Generation solemnly stated, “He once served as a child beneath a truly unique Penglai Immortal. At that time, the owner of the Penglai Treasury from another domain somehow managed to kill the Immortal of Penglai and took over Penglai as a base to create the Penglai Treasury. The first of the Heavenly Heart escaped and subsequently concealed his identity, adopting the name Xu Fu to roam the earthly realm, later favored by Emperor Shihuang… As for the Clothed Dao, it was a secret organization he established during that period.”

“That doesn’t seem right… something feels off,” Long Xiruo frowned, “You claim the owner of the Penglai Treasury is an invader from abroad. I asked how you know, and you said this was left by the founder of the Clothed Dao… because the founder, Xu Fu himself, also came from a different world from ours. And now, you say he originated from the true Penglai… which one is true? Or… could it be?!”

“Just as you think, Lord Long,” the Heavenly Heart Seventieth Generation sighed, “For a thousand years, Penglai pursued by China was also from beyond… or rather, a place higher than beyond.”

“I don’t understand.” Long Xiruo shook her head straightforwardly.

The Heavenly Heart Seventieth Generation responded, “We Clothed Dao believe the world is not unique but composed of countless similar worlds.”

“You mean… world fragments?” Long Xiruo furrowed her brows.

The Heavenly Heart Seventieth Generation shook his head, “Not world fragments, but a complete main reality… to illustrate, in another space-time, there’s another China, another Lord Long, another me, another Godly Land, another Hua Country, and other nations, though they might develop completely differently from us… It may exist in that time and space with you being Lord Long but not as the true dragon of China, maybe just as an ordinary person.”

“Parallel dimensions?”

“You could put it that way,” the Heavenly Heart Seventieth Generation nodded, “Actually, the theory of parallel worlds has been around early on, but only in recent decades has it become a hot topic in the mortal realm.”

“Then… Penglai?”

“It might be from another space-time, but more likely it is above parallel dimensions,” the Heavenly Heart Seventieth Generation paused, carefully considering his words as if weighing them out, “Let’s term the world composed of countless main worlds as the ‘World of the Great Thousand’? Although I’m not sure if this is appropriate, it seems to fit best… Modern times have brought forth the term ‘dimension’, but I don’t fully grasp the concept of dimension, so let’s just call it the ‘Great Thousand World’.”

He looked at Long Xiruo, “In the Great Thousand World, there are known to be countless versions of you, me, and others. However, each is independent while somewhat interconnected… This more likely results from choosing divergent paths at a fork, leading to different possibilities—such as facing a choice wherein a right decision results in a good outcome, while a wrong decision results in a bad outcome. Hence, there would be a world with a good result and another with a bad result. This gives rise to two different worlds.”

“Seventieth Generation, if what you say is true, it is already infinite!”

“Time itself is infinite,” the Heavenly Heart Seventieth Generation smiled wryly, “We Clothed Dao excel in calculation, yet each generation exhausts a lifetime without finding the limit of time… even perhaps merely scraping the surface. The constant changes in the world probably aren’t destined to see an end through mere arithmetic. Yet we believe, within the Great Thousand World, exists a unique entity—akin to the truth, it embodies the essence, the origin, and all laws reside within. Penglai might be this unique.”

“How so?”
