Death Game: Starting as a Trickster, Pretending to Be a God

Chapter 195: Free Activity Time, Switching Identities!

“Are you not planning to leave? Why are you still here?”

Phantom looked at Lin Yu with some curiosity and asked.

“Shouldn’t you be rushing back to the Order’s team? The situation in Jiangcheng is going to be chaotic.”

Although he was a member of the Free Alliance, Phantom was quite clear about grudges and alliances.

Just moments ago, he had entertained the idea of killing Lin Yu, but after learning that Lin Yu had helped him...

That previous statement was almost a well-intentioned reminder.

Lin Yu nodded appreciatively but did not follow Phantom’s advice.

“As a First-Tier doctor, even if I return to the team, I won’t have a decisive impact on the overall situation.”

“On the contrary, if I stay with you, from a ‘big picture’ perspective, it’s actually the optimal choice.”

Lin Yu said calmly.
Li Nian reacted immediately.

“Oh my, so you’re planning to use yourself as a human surveillance eye to monitor us with your physical body?”

“Using yourself to restrict our actions... that’s actually a clever idea.”

Old Zhou showed a troubled expression.

“What do we do about this... We can’t possibly carry him around everywhere, right?”

“We definitely can’t kill him!”

Xiaoyun sighed and pointed to her head. “Don’t get stuck on one idea...”

Phantom picked up the conversation. “We don’t have to kill him, but we also don’t have to bring him along.”

“This is where my clever tools come in,” Li Nian stuck out her tongue, licked her lips, and rummaged in her pocket. “This one, this one... hey!”

She pulled out an entire “oil painting.”

It depicted the scene of a certain “room.”

Xiaoyun glanced at it and curiously said, “This is Kui’s piece, right? I heard it was auctioned off at the last anonymous trade meeting of the Hunters’ Association. Turns out you spent a fortune buying it!”

Phantom chuckled lightly. “Xiaoyun, you still don’t really understand A Nian...”

Li Nian laughed heartily.

“What a joke, of course I stole it!”

She tossed the oil painting onto the ground and then winked at Lin Yu.

“Nice to meet you, May May—well, see you next time if fate allows.”

Then, Li Nian snapped her fingers.

“Sister Xiaoyun, please make sure this guy doesn’t come over.”

Xiaoyun nodded.

Suddenly, another pale hand appeared out of thin air in her grasp.

The severed part was stitched, the skin pale with a lifeless bluish-purple hue. Judging by the size and shape of the knuckles and palm, it seemed to belong to an adult male.

Xiaoyun gently waved this short hand.

“No ‘forward movement’ allowed here.”

She whispered, and an invisible barrier stretched between Lin Yu and the four of them.

Lin Yu tried to step forward but seemed to hit an air wall.

“What kind of ability is this?”

Xiaoyun looked at Lin Yu’s awkward state and pursed her lips in response.

“This ability is derived from the Referee’s power changes... but I’m not the Referee, he is.”

She shook the severed hand in her palm.

“To introduce myself, although everyone calls me Xiaoyun, that was a forum ID I used before... My more official codename is Undertaker.”

“Nice to meet you, Doctor May.”

After saying this...

On the other side of the invisible barrier, four Free Alliance members jumped into the oil painting on the ground.

It was as if they had leapt into an “entrance.” The painting’s surface rippled like water waves, then returned to calm.

Afterwards, the oil painting disappeared from its original place.

Lin Yu watched this scene thoughtfully.

“Hm... so this is the Painter’s chosen follow-up ability after selecting [Paint], becoming an ‘Oil Painter’...”

It was completely the opposite of the ‘Sketch Painter’ who chose [Pencil].

Robin’s follow-up ability was still to let things inside the painting come out...

But this ability, after advancement, seemed to let things outside enter into the painting.

As to why Lin Yu was so sure this was related to the Painter’s ability,

It was because the previously mentioned Kui was a well-known figure on the leaderboard.

Ranked eighty-fifth, the Painter was also somewhat famous on the forum.

Of course, none of that really mattered.

What mattered was...

“Phew, they really left!”

Lin Yu sat on the suite’s sofa and exhaled deeply.

Although he knew he probably wouldn’t die, this feeling of dancing on the edge of a knife still made him nervous.

However, the performance was a success.

Now, the “May May” identity must have become much more vivid within the Free Alliance.

Even after Gao Shan returned, he would likely boost Lin Yu’s reputation back in the Order.
