The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 342: Chapter 342: Know Yourself, Know Your Enemy (First Update)_1

After leaving Baiwei Restaurant, Yang Ruxin let out a small sigh. It seemed that doing business wasn’t as easy as she had thought.

”Big sister, why didn’t you sell to him?” Sanni asked, somewhat puzzled. ”Even three silver wouldn’t have been a small amount, let alone ten...”

”If we had done that, we would have been looked down upon by them,” Yang Ruxin said with a smile. ”Besides, that would have been a one-off deal, but what I need is long-term cooperation.” She patted her backpack, ”This can continue to make money for us.”

Sanni frowned, ”But what do we do now? They don’t want it...”

”Naturally, we’ll look for other sales outlets. This town isn’t limited to just one restaurant like Baiwei Restaurant; even if it was, we could go to other towns or even to the county city or prefectural city,” Yang Ruxin said cheerfully. ”In the worst case, we’ll bring it back for ourselves to eat. What are you worried about?”

Sanni immediately smiled. She knew her big sister would definitely have a plan.

Lianhua Town was considered a fairly large town in the Great Xuan Dynasty, with a population of over ten thousand. With a dock, the town had a substantial flow of people, so the business of the stores on the town was quite good. And since food is paramount to the people, there were even more eateries.

There were several restaurants, and besides Baiwei Restaurant, there was also Quanshun Building, though it was smaller and did less business. Then there were many small diners, and of course, specialty stores such as Pan Family’s Roast Chicken, Ma Family’s Hand-pulled noodles, Siping Pancakes, Shunji Buns, along with some stalls that were also quite famous, like Auntie Zhao’s wontons, and Old Man Ma’s roasted sweet potatoes...

As Yang Ruxin introduced them to Sanni, she led her to the entrance of Quanshun Building. These were things she had heard from Gu Yao and had also paid attention to during her visits to the town. She also asked Uncle Lv about them, so she was quite clear about it all.

Sanni looked at Yang Ruxin in amazement, ”How do you know all this?”

”It’s called knowing the enemy and knowing yourself, that’s how you win every battle,” Yang Ruxin flicked her sister’s forehead, ”Whatever you do or whoever you’re dealing with in the future, you must first understand the details about them and act with precision; that’s how you hit the target every time... Plus, you must always have a backup plan. You can’t put all your hopes in one place, because if that one fails, you’ll have no way out.”

Sanni made a face, ”I understand, but you didn’t exactly ’know the enemy and know yourself’ with Baiwei Restaurant and Quanshun Building...”

”I didn’t know much about Baiwei Restaurant, but that’s because Master Qi had given his word. I thought it was a sure thing, but...” Yang Ruxin spread her hands, ”Fortunately, I had a backup plan and did inquire about Quanshun Building.” She paused, ”The shopkeeper of Quanshun Building is called Han Baichuan. His ancestors were Imperial Chefs during the previous dynasty and were very skilled in cooking. Later, he also worked as a Head Chef in a big restaurant in Beijing. He is a very capable person...”

”If he’s so talented, why can’t Quanshun Building compete with Baiwei Restaurant?”

Yang Ruxin laughed, ”Because of money.”

Sanni frowned.

”The Shen Family is both wealthy and powerful,” Yang Ruxin said with a smile. She had inquired about it, and the Shen Family’s boss was the Minister of Revenue. The Ministry of Revenue was like the Ministry of Finance in modern times, managing the finances of the entire Great Xuan Dynasty, and he could be considered as someone the Emperor trusted immensely. Otherwise, how could the presence of Qi Yong be expected at the birthday celebration of the old lady of the Shen Family? Qi’s family had an imperial lineage, after all.
