The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 171: Chapter 171: Enemies on a Narrow Road (Three More)_1

Since there were wild chickens here, there would definitely be other wild creatures as well.

Just as she thought of this, Yang Ruxin stood still, and right in front of her, she surprisingly spotted a wild boar, which was grunting as it ran towards her.

”Good thing I have an ace up my sleeve, otherwise coming in here would be like delivering lunch to someone,” Ruxin muttered under her breath and quickly slipped into her space, not daring to provoke such a wild creature.

The wild boar slowly made its way over and stopped where Ruxin had been standing, but after swinging its large head from side to side, it seemed puzzled, as if wondering how there had clearly been a living being here just a moment ago, and now in the blink of an eye, it was gone?

Inside her space, Ruxin watched the big fellow and patted her chest—this animal was formidable, generally not something other predators dared to mess with, let alone her, Yang Ruxin.

After the boar circled a few times and found nothing unusual, it finally ambled away, followed by five more of varying sizes—apparently a family of six.

Once the group of wild boars passed by, Ruxin ventured out from her space, still feeling uneasy. She remembered reading novels where the female protagonist would travel to the countryside and easily hunt wild rabbits and chickens on the mountains, making money and prospering from it, but that must be nonsense. The mountains were complex, and without the right tools, how could one possibly catch prey? Not even real hunters could manage that.

As if to prove her point, several wild rabbits dashed by her. She hurriedly chased after them, but unfortunately, the rabbits were even faster than the chickens and she couldn’t catch up. She threw her dagger at them, picked up rocks to throw, but she couldn’t aim accurately nor hit her targets.

Ruxin could only exhale, not minding the lack of meat—her haul was still decent. Look, there were plenty of medicinal herbs in the woods nearby, including Catharanthus Roseus, honeysuckle, wild chrysanthemums, and she even saw a large patch of snakeberries, also known as wild strawberries—a good find. The fruit was edible, and the whole plant was medicinally beneficial; for instance, if bitten by a poisonous snake, it could be used as an antidote. She immediately dug them up and put them in her space to plant in her yard later...

Besides the herbs, there were many wild vegetables on the ground, such as goosefoot, bitter vegetables, purslane, shepherd’s purse—all abundant because nobody came here to gather them, and there was also a piece of rotting wood covered in tree ear fungus, which she collected in its entirety into her space...

When she had nearly finished harvesting the area, Ruxin looked up at the sky—it was already past noon. She found a place to sit down, nibbled on a couple of the pancake she brought, took a sip of water, and then prepared to head back home.

However, just as she got up, she widened her eyes in surprise at the sight of a dark green snake swiftly slithering towards her from the distance.

Ruxin blew a stray lock of hair from her forehead. First a wild boar, now a venomous snake—no wonder no one dared to come here. But she wasn’t afraid. She swiftly ducked back into her space, recognizing it as the little green snake she had encountered previously, identifiable by its bright green body, with a distinctive small silver spot on its forehead.

Was this what they called a narrow escape from an enemy?

This time, Xiaolun surged forward with its greatest speed, intending to catch Ruxin off guard with one swift strike, but how could it be that just as it arrived, she disappeared again? There was unmistakably the scent of that woman in the air—so where was she?

It had to be said; this was a vengeful and persistent snake.
