The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 132: Chapter 132: Tug-of-War_1

Yang Peili frowned, ”What’s the fuss about?”

”I went to see the doctor yesterday,” Yang Baifu said with conviction, ”and elder sister-in-law’s illness isn’t something that can be cured with one or two doses of medicine. This month alone it’ll cost at least three taels of silver. Are we trying to empty the family coffers or what?” He paused, ”And besides, elder sister-in-law was knocked unconscious by second brother, so by rights he should bear the cost. You can’t drag us from the fourth branch into this too, right? I already have two daughters and I still need to have a son... If you spend all the money now, what will I do in the future? Do you really have the heart to see that one day I die without anyone to continue the family line?”

”Nonsense,” Yang Peili was angered, ”I’m not dead yet.”

”I don’t care.” Even though Yang Baifu feared his father, at that moment his mind was made up, and he shouted with his neck stiffened, ”I refuse to help second brother bear the endless medical expenses... All that talk about how you sympathize with me, I say it’s all crap. You care about second brother the most... Isn’t it just because Rusong can study?” He paused, ”If I have a son, I’ll send him to study too, and maybe he’ll do even better than Rusong...”

”What do you mean by that?” Yang Baichuan, upon hearing Yang Baifu’s words, didn’t hide anymore and rushed out.

”What I mean is, either you from the second branch pay for eldest sister-in-law’s expenses, or we split the family,” Yang Baifu stated resolutely, ”It’s impossible for us to suffer with you...”

Yang Peili was so furious that he raised his hand and slapped him.

Yang Baifu was immediately dumbfounded by the slap, covering his cheek without speaking for a long time.

Yang Ruxin watched the scene with concealed sarcasm on her face. Look at that, just for a few taels of silver and your son’s ”good virtues” are all exposed. The beating Xun Hui took was actually quite valuable. It seems that in the Yang Family, those who are filial and work hard are treated like grass, while those who make trouble and are cunning are treasured.

”Dad, why did you hit me?” Yang Baifu shouted after he came to his senses, still insisting on his previous view with stiffened neck, even more resolute, ”Anyway, I’ve laid it out here today. Either the second branch bears the medical expenses themselves, or our fourth branch will go our own way. Don’t call me unfilial later, I won’t support or bury you when you’re dead...”

”Youngest, you...” Yang Peili was so overcome with anger he was at a loss for words, his old face flushed with anger, pointing his finger at Yang Baifu without being able to say anything.

Yang Ruxin instinctively took a few steps back. Old Man Yang wouldn’t be paralyzed by anger, would he?

Fortunately, Old Man Yang’s vitality was strong, and he soon recovered, but he dared not be harsh with his son anymore, especially since all four sons had always been his pride, giving him confidence wherever he went. However, he had not anticipated this...

”Youngest son, you are gouging our hearts out...” Yang Anshi started crying with eyes red, but she wasn’t scolding, ”Speaking such words, you might be struck by lightning...”

”Mom...” Yang Baifu fell to his knees before Yang Anshi, grabbing her legs, ”You have to save your youngest son too. I don’t have a son yet. If Dong Family’s woman can’t give birth, I’ll have to find a concubine to have a son, and that’ll need silver too. But eldest sister-in-law is a bottomless pit. Mom, I beg you, have pity on me...”

Yang Ruxin’s lips twitched slightly. Uncle Four was still thinking about taking a concubine? His gall was truly formidable.
