Standing beside him was Gu Tianchao, busy pulling his father back, ”Father, the case had advanced to this extent, it would be bad for sister Xijiu to back off now. Even if she were to lose, she should lose with honor - it’s the only way she can live up to the family name.”

This son was evil; he was still trying to condemn her even at difficult times!

Gu Xietian exploded. He was so angry that he felt like kicking him on the spot, ”Bastard, shut up! No one would say that you are mute, if you were to keep quiet!”

It was the first time Gu Tianchao was scolded so viciously, let alone in front of the public. His face turned red. He said, ”I was the only concern for the family name…”

Gu Xietian cut him off before he finished his words, ”For the sake of a family name, you are going to utterly destroy your own sister?!”

Gu Tianchao was lost for words, and said, ”I don’t have such intentions…” and dared not utter another word. His face turned sour, as he headed back.

Gu Xietian was saddened, he had always thought his son was the best - morally righteous and talented, but it did not seem like the case…

All the children respected him but at the same time, they were trying to set their sister up.

On days when he was not around, the daughter were treated unimaginably bad!

He started to feel guilty. As his blood started to boil, he took a deep breath, stepped forward, ”My respectful saint, I will accept the punishment on behalf of my daughter!”

To save his child, he was willing to throw away his dignity!

Gu Xixi eyes brightened, ”General Gu are you saying that you will accept all the punishment I have just said?”

”That’s right!”

Gu Xixi could be seen to be smiling at the corners of her mouth. However, her smile did not reflect sarcasm. She said politely, ”Well, I should allow General Gu to represent her daughter, but your daughter is currently being punished. If she is not punished, she would never know where the limit lies... However…”

When she was going to change the subject, Gu Xijiu said flatly, ”I am innocent, there is no need for anyone to get punished on behalf of me. This so-called Tianwen Saint’s medical knowledge is terrible!”

The audience turned quiet.

Gu Xixi face turned green, ”General Gu, there is nothing more to say. This bet must go on!”

Gu Xietian was saddened, ”Xiao Jiu!”

Gu Xijiu looked towards him, ”Father, I know what I’m doing, don’t worry.”

This child finally called him father! Although it was no where close to ”Dad”, it was better than calling him ”General”...

Gu Xietian blood started to boil again. He looked at his daughter standing there; her head seemed small, but her spirit was tough.

A pair of calm eyes and a small smirk - it seemed like she had everything thought out.

His heart flickered, recalling her actions over the past few days. This girl never fought any battles unprepared, and maybe she really had confidence in this!

His jumpy heart had finally started to calm down. He took a deep breath, ”Alright, Xijiu, I believe in you!”

Tian Jiyue had a look at Gu Xijiu, but she said nothing and continued to record it on the document, before showing it to the three of them who were betting.

The minister wrote a fluent article; every stroke was with a sufficient force. The flow as calm as the water at the river, the content was simple, clear and neatly organized..

The three of them did not have any objection and signed their names.

Tian Jiyue pointed on the piece of paper with his finger and tapped lightly, ”Now, we shall begin.”

…

Before Tian Jiyue started the court case, a medicinal urn was placed on the table. There was a stack of white silk, and on the white silk was a shiny knife.

The medicinal urn was for luck, while the knife was for the cutting of the tongue!
