“Apologize?” Zhao Youlin’s eyes fluttered. She realized the actual purpose of the two who had abruptly come looking for her. So, it was all because of what she had said in the cafeteria the day before.

‘Revenge upon me, huh?’ Zhao Youlin smirked to herself. She was far from being narcissistic enough to actually think that the two of them had truly cared about her by saying so. Instead of the fire raining upon her, she believed that the two elders were actually afraid that Mu Tingfeng would vent his anger to the Zhao family.

“So, you want me to offer my apologies to Young Master Mu, huh?”

“That’s right,” Zhao Shuncheng replied without giving a second thought. However, he forgot that the person before him was no longer his meek, submissive eldest daughter. So, what he thought was something that he was definitely going to get, ended up being something impossible to realize.

“Impossible.”

“What?” Zhang Shuncheng froze. He widened his eyes just like before, and looked at Zhao Youlin in shock.

Zhao Youlin patiently repeated herself, “I said, if you want me to apologize to Mu Tingfeng, that’s impossible.”

Zhao Shuncheng lost his patience as soon as his request was bluntly rejected by Zhao Youlin. He shouted, “Girl, I’m being courteous right now, and you’re throwing it in my face?!”

“Who was the one who had nothing but a courteous treatment yet failed to appreciate it?” Zhao Youlin was amused by Zhao Shuncheng’s illogical remarks. All her life, this was her first time being told that offering one’s apology to the son-in-law was an honor given to the daughter. Indeed, there were plenty of bizarre people in this world, especially this year.

“Whatever. After all, I’m definitely not going to offer my apologies to Mu Tingfeng. That’s impossible. If there’s nothing else, please get out of my way. Also, I don’t wish to run into your two in this area ever again.”

Zhao Youlin held Joy’s hand and was about to leave. However, before she took a single step, a loud bellow rang out behind her.

“Stop it right there! You’ve no say in this matter. Whether you like it or not, you have to follow me to the Mu family house. Come, take the eldest lady to the car.”

Right after Zhao Shuncheng spoke, five big-sized and tall bodyguards in black arrived from the other side and surrounded Zhao Youlin and Joy.

Zhao Youlin shot a quick glance at the bodyguards and snickered, “What’s the matter? The soft approach didn’t work on me, so you want to use force now, huh?”

“I’ll give you another chance. Obey my words. Take the child, get into the car, and offer your apologies to Young Master Mu. Otherwise, don’t blame me for not showing mercy,” Zhao Shuncheng threatened Zhao Youlin with a menacing look.

A flash darted across Zhao Youlin’s eyes. She smiled, and replied in mockery, “Mercy? When have you ever shown your mercy to me? Why didn’t I have the slightest bit of impression of it?”

Zhao Shuncheng’s expression darkened, and he growled, “Get the eldest lady into the car.”

“Watch out and don’t hurt the kid!” Li Hongyu, who was beside Zhao Shuncheng had been staring at Joy who was next to Zhao Youlin. She unwittingly shouted the moment the bodyguards dashed forward to them.

In fact, she did not actually care about the child’s safety. But the child belonged to the Mu family. Even though the child was with Zhao Youlin now, half of him still carried the Mu family’s bloodline. If the child got hurt, they would offend the Mu family just the same.

“Miss, please get in the car,” A bodyguard with sunglasses took the lead and went up to Zhao Youlin. He made a gesture to invite her to board the car.

Zhao Youlin remained motionless in place. The bodyguard hesitated for a moment. In the end, he stretched out for Zhao Youlin and said, “Miss, sorry for any offense.”

Right after he spoke, his extended arm toward Zhao Youlin was stopped half a meter away from her.

The bodyguard was stunned. He looked at the fair palm clutching his wrist and looked in the direction of the palm, only to be greeted by Zhao Youlin’s expressionless face.

Immediately after, he saw a smile arched across her quiet and gentle face. He instinctively sensed a bad omen. Indeed…

“A-Ah!” A painful shriek cut through the night sky of the neighborhood. It frightened the people strolling nearby and clutched the hearts of the people at the site.
