The Husky and His White Cat Shizun

Chapter 333 Extra “Xue Meng’s Extra: Tea Girl (3)”

On that fateful day at the Wonderful Sound Pond, amidst the chaos, Mei Hanxue now found some details hazy in his recollection. In short, due to his stutter and difficulty in speaking, he couldnʼt defend himself, ultimately being thrown into the Yama Hall by the righteous senior brothers of the Peak of Life and Death for redemption.

In the scuffle, Mei Hanxueʼs outer robe had been left behind at the pond.

He stood there, clad in thin clothes with his pale golden tresses flowing loosely, his emerald eyes wide open, helplessly situated within the Hall of Reflecting Sincerity, where the banner read ”Oneʼs loyalty and determination remain unchanged even in life or death.” He felt deeply wronged.

”Let me out...”

Everyone treated the young ruffian harshly, so no one let him out. However, after a while, a senior brother from the Peak of Life and Death came to deliver him clothing, saying it was ”from the Young Master,” along with a book.

Upon unfolding the garment, Mei Hanxue discovered it was a discipleʼs robe for females.

Then, upon examining the book, it was even more absurd – it was a volume on ”Womenʼs Virtues.”

”...”

To be honest, Mei Hanxue had always been a very tolerant person, not easily angered. But this time, he was genuinely taken aback.

He understood that each place had its customs: Shattered Leaf City had its ways, Treading Snow Palace had its rules, and Sichuan had its habits. For instance, he detested eating pork, but before leaving, his master, Bright Moon Building, had warned them about the diverse nature of human society. What one disliked might be cherished by others, and it was important not to trample on othersʼ preferences, which was called respect. Mei Hanxue had always respected others – he would never, for example, shout ”disgusting” in front of a Central Plains dweller happily devouring a roasted pigʼs trotter.

Despite his genuine disgust, he would still politely hand over the salt and pepper.

Then, he would return home to wash his hands a hundred times.

But this ”Young Master” had no concept of respecting differences. Not only did he lack the hospitality of ”Isnʼt it delightful when friends come from afar?”, he even sent womenʼs clothing and a copy of ʼFeminine Virtueʼ to humiliate him.

Hadnʼt he just accidentally entered the wrong bathhouse? Why couldnʼt they have resolved it peacefully instead of resorting to such brutality?

The inexperienced outsider, Mei Hanxue, couldnʼt comprehend this and didnʼt want to think about it any further. He was inwardly annoyed.

That night, it was bitterly cold. He only had a thin, soiled robe to wear. Though it was humiliating, a man in his position couldnʼt afford to be picky. Eventually, he put on the clothes given by the ”Young Master”.

As for the ʼFeminine Virtueʼ, he unceremoniously used it as firewood. The moment the flames lit up, Mei Hanxue vowed in the darkness of his heart that he would never forget this humiliation. If that ”Young Master” ever fell into his hands, he would surely make him pay!

The following morning was rather awkward.

According to the rules set by the Bright Moon Building for the two brothers, one day he would reveal his true self, while the next day, it would be his brother Mei Hanxueʼs turn.

When Mei Hanxue came to the Netherworld Hall to find him, intending to switch identities, he saw his brother dressed in the blue-silver garb of a female disciple from the Peak of Life and Death, with his golden hair loosely tied back, sitting in a dim corner.

Mei Hanxue: ”… What kind of attire is that?”

Mei Hanxue replied, ”Brother, this is the outfit youʼre supposed to wear today.”

”…”

”Come on, Iʼve enjoyed wearing it all night, and it still smells nice. Letʼs quickly switch clothes.”

”Mei Hanxue!” the elder brother exclaimed in anger. ”What trouble have you silently landed me in again?!”

Sometimes, Mei Hanxue felt truly sorry for his brother. Perhaps it was due to bad luck, but every time something unfortunate happened to him, it was always his brother who ended up cleaning up the mess.

This time was no different.

If wearing a female discipleʼs robe and roasting by the Yama Hallʼs fireplace all night was already frustrating enough, then what his brother endured as the ”Young Masterʼs” victim was even worse. According to the arrangement of the Yama Hall guards, his brother had to go out to the Book Collection Pavilion and clean books today.
