Chapter 149 – 129: There’s a Path to Heaven Yet You Refuse to Take It (Two-in-One Mega Chapter)

Just now, it was this thing that had blocked Rein’s swift slash.

Although Rein’s sword strike wasn’t charged for the sake of speed, normally, unless the opponent was wearing plate armor rather than chain mail or thick leather armor, they would have been pierced through by Rein’s blade.

Moreover, judging by the state of the opponent after being hit, it seemed they hadn’t been wounded by the “Glimmering Greatsword.”

This was an unprecedented situation among the Blackflame Monks Rein had encountered before, which couldn’t help but make his gaze sharpen.

At this moment, the Giant Scythe Blackflame Monk lifted his head for the first time, revealing a pale and handsome face under the hood, which, judging from his age, seemed to be only around twenty.

Rein’s eyes flickered slightly, uncertain whether the opponent was truly of that age or if it was the effect of some kind of dark magic.

“Young man, not bad talent, but, it ends here!” A sinister smile suddenly appeared on the pale face of the other party.

As soon as the voice fell, the figure of the other party underwent a drastic transformation!

The black robe suddenly inflated like a balloon that was pumped full of air, and then, in the next second, it burst open with a bang.

After a loud “bang!” a grayish-white… waist-bound robe was revealed!

But the appearance of this garment caused Rein’s pupils to shrink!

Because of his excellent vision, he had already noticed something strange about the opponent’s clothing!

At the moment, on the grayish-white waist-bound robe of the other party, he could see six or seven twisted faces, expressions of pain and ferocity, and from the ages of these few faces, they seemed to be children around ten years old.

In other words, this was a waist-bound robe made from multiple pieces of human skin…

“Damn it, it’s definitely a cult, such brutal bastards!” Rein cursed in his heart.

He figured out the purpose behind the Blackflame Cult’s encouragement of gang members to kidnap children.

Their goal might not be that simple, but certainly, this had to be one of them.

And moreover, this garment of the other party must have been processed in some special manner, it couldn’t simply be the result of tanning, as Rein’s greatsword strike just now had a hard time cutting through it.

However, revealing this horrifying robe was just the first step.

The body of the opponent suddenly began to rapidly grow, shooting up from about 1.9 meters to 2.2 meters. Enjoy more content from m

And the process was still ongoing!

The opponent was simply growing taller, the pure increase in height, not like Rein becoming twice as big all around when he unleashes his full strength.

2.4 meters…

2.6 meters…

Rein stared at this spectacle, dumbfounded!

Anyone who saw their opponent suddenly grow from 1.9 meters to 2.6 meters would be astonished, wouldn’t they?

Rein felt like his enemy had suddenly transformed from a little fourth-grader into Yao Ming!

This… are you made of rubber?

At this point, the opponent’s two-meter-long, two-handed weapon—a giant scythe—was now being held in the right hand alone, hmm, the two-handed polearm had become a one-handed weapon.

“Whirlwind Cut!”

The opponent began to spin the giant scythe vertically with one hand, turning it into a standing fan, and instantly a blackish-gray tornado was whipped up, attacking Rein!

This time Rein did not rashly choose to take the hit head-on. Although he had the Transcendent trait ‘Iron Skin lv2’, he didn’t want to directly receive a strike that was obviously a secret technique.

If his ‘Iron Skin’ got broken accidentally, that would be…

Rein immediately rolled to the side and quickly dodged.

The blackish-gray tornado grazed past Rein and struck the fleeing townspeople behind him, slicing them into chunks and engulfing them in black flames!

Rein’s brow furrowed, the opponent’s attack methods had become more diverse and bizarre after the transformation!

This was clearly not a physical attack but was mixed with some mysterious energy!

But just when Rein thought he had evaded the opponent’s strike with his roll.

Suddenly, his danger perception of level 3 started to give him frantic warnings! At the same time, Rein’s peripheral vision caught a glint of cold light, slashing towards his face like lightning.

Rein immediately raised the Glimmering Greatsword to block horizontally!

“Clang!”

Sparks flew everywhere!

Rein was instantly knocked back four or five meters!
