The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World

Over these days of decisive battle, the Divine Paladin was nowhere to be seen, causing some demons to speculate that he had run away. Only for him to return once again.

No matter, the arrival of another hero did not change the outcome.

”What is the point of serving humanity? Those foolish humans are destined to fall. Their ideals, their morality, their pathetic sense of justice... all of it will eventually be crushed.”

He clenched his hand into a fist.

”Even your master, that Divine Paladin, will fall. Why don’t you join us? You already possess Demonic Markings. With my help, you could...”

Before he could complete.

”Silence.”

Karina interrupted. Her usually impassive eyes had become colder.

”Lord Reinhardt is my master. I will not let anyone badmouth him. And I will never join you.”

She lowered her body slightly. A faint green light appeared around her daggers. Her gaze sharpened.

”I came here to kill you.”

There was no room for negotiation.

Victor’s smile disappeared. Cold light flashed in the eyes behind the monocle.

Flash...

Karina moved. She appeared directly before him.

Victor raised his claw.

CLANG...

The first dagger struck, bursting into sparks. Then the second.

Karina’s movements were fast and elusive, barely giving one time to respond.

One blade suddenly curved. The green aura surrounding it twisted into the shape of a venomous serpent. Then the second did the same.

Two emerald vipers lunged toward Victor.

Danger...

Victor’s expression finally became serious.

”Interesting. Even in the partial state, it seems like you can threaten me. In that case, I’ll get a little more serious. Allow me to see how much of the Demonic Marking’s strength you can utilize.”

Right as he said that...

BOOM...

Demonic energy erupted from his body. His transformation advanced further. Black flesh spread across his torso, his shoulders widened, and from his back...

Two enormous demonic wings suddenly burst outward.

Victor shot into the sky.

The twin green serpents followed, their fangs snapped shut beneath him.

BANG...

With a punch, he destroyed the serpents.

Back at the center of the human camp, a fierce battle had already begun.

It had to be said that having a Hero on the battlefield and not having one made an enormous difference. The numerous buffs granted by the Heroes’ titles alone were enough to make the strength of ordinary knights soar. For those below the rank of Extreme Knight, the difference was almost like heaven and earth.

Although the buffs did not have much effect on Extreme Knights themselves, the improvement among the countless ordinary knights was more than enough to influence the entire battlefield.

Overall, the knights had gained a slight advantage. But only slightly.

Varakos and the demons under his command were far from weak. Adding the Stigma-enhanced demons created by the Organization into the equation, their combined strength was more than enough to overwhelm the camp, especially when most of the powerful knights had already left to attack the demon encampment.

And then there was the Blightheart Colossus.

That Abomination moved freely across the battlefield, completely unchallenged. No knight present possessed the power to stop it.

Wherever it passed, the earth blackened and withered. Grass shriveled, trees rotted, and even the purified soil slowly became corrupted beneath its monstrous body.

Meanwhile, as the battle raged outside, another scene was unfolding near the center of the human camp.

Vanessa arrived at an open area where a massive, complex magic array had been engraved into the ground. At its very center was a circular formation roughly one meter wide.

From there, countless lines extended outward like the roots of a gigantic tree, connecting the central array to several points scattered throughout the camp.

At each of those points was another smaller array. And at the center of every one of them was a branch of the World Tree.

These branches had been carefully planted into the earth, their roots intertwined with the magic formations.

A vast amount of concentrated divine energy continuously leaked from them, bathing the surrounding land in a faint golden radiance.

Back at the camp, Vanessa stepped into the central formation. Standing in the middle, she closed her eyes, clasped her hands, and began praying.

Brilliant holy energy erupted from her body and spread through the array, causing it to come alive.

The entire array trembled. One line after another began glowing.
