Rebirth: Pampered Wife’s Counterattack

Chapter 179: Because Of Xinxin (Part 2)

Fang Xinxin was dumbstruck by his response.

She could have never guessed she was the reason that her brother met with trouble!

The heavy feeling of guilt knocked against her chest. “The night you met with trouble, Bai Chenxi told me he wasn’t feeling well and asked if I had the time to eat supper with him.”

At the time, she loved Bai Chenxi dearly. She would have agreed to marry him on the spot if he had asked. How could she have refused to have supper with him?

“I agreed and we met on a food street. The place was crowded at night and my phone was stolen. I didn’t send you any messages, nor did I receive any calls from you.”

Fang Xinxin frowned. “Clearly, someone was scheming against us.”

Fang Shaohua’s expression was grave. “The next day, when I woke up on the hotel bed with Sun Fangfang, she was seriously injured. I immediately understood that the message didn’t come from you. Unfortunately, by then, someone had deleted the message that I received from your phone. I was immediately arrested and I couldn’t contact you. The entire time I was in jail, I couldn’t sleep or eat well. I was worried you had met with trouble. Until…”

She responded to his words. “Until I came to visit you. You only stopped worrying when you saw that I was fine. Brother, you should have told me about this earlier! I was completely clueless. I thought I had accidentally lost my phone. I didn’t think that someone had stolen my phone to trick you!”

“It was better that way. At the very least, you were safe.” He smiled and consoled her. As long as she was fine, he did not mind his own plight.

“Did you know? The moment I learned that you had met with trouble, I was extremely flustered. Mom told me that, since you had committed a crime, it was only natural that you serve your time.” Fang Xinxin spoke with an upset expression.

“Mom even said that, this is your retribution… that you’re only an adopted son and that you had no right being so ambitious to stand against her just to become the Fang Group’s director.”

Fang Shaohua did not rush to explain himself. “Xinxin, what do you think?”

In her previous life, she had been blinded by Fang Lilan and had chosen to stand on her mother’s side.

However, after enduring one lifetime, she saw things clearly now. She understood that her brother was sincerely loyal to the Fang family.

Fang Xinxin’s tone was serious. “Brother, I believe that you’re not like that. Even if there was something you truly wanted, there was no way you would have targeted the Fang Group. You would have tried to obtain it with your own abilities.”

Fang Shaohua smiled in relief. His dark complexion seemed to regain a little of its previous, sunny disposition. His eyes were warm and bright. “Your trust… is all I need.”

He paused for a moment before saying, “Before Dad became a vegetable, besides the deed to hand his position over, he also prepared another document. Ever since I became the Fang Group’s director, the Fang Group’s profits were to be split evenly between us. As for the debts, if there were any, they would not be passed onto you. Initially, I did not wish to have my half. I thought it would be enough if I received a salary, but Dad insisted on it and said it would encourage me to work harder for the company. I only agreed to it to set his heart at ease. There are two copies of this signed document. One is with Ming Da Law Corporation, while the other should be with me. To prevent Fang Lilan from destroying the contract, I left mine at the lawyer’s office at well. You can request for it from the lawyer by the name of Zhang Minglu.

He then shared Zhang Minglu’s contact details with her.

“En.” She nodded.

“Also…” Fang Shaohua watched her with heartache. “I saved some money under your name.”
