Rebirth of the Godly Prodigal

Ling Mufeng continued, “In the beginning, I thought it was just a small pill worth ten dollars or so and didn’t take it seriously. However, after a while, I found that I couldn’t stop taking it. So I went to find them twice and ended up getting caught. It was only after I reached here that I realized what had happened.”

Ling Mufeng didn’t need to continue the story for Hong Dali to know what had happened. It was just a case where Ling Mufeng was deceived into starting drugs and then caught by the police after getting tipped off by someone. This would then cause Dali to be diverted away during his coming of age ceremony.

It seemed that the real mastermind had set up a huge web targeting himself.

Ling Mufeng was just a small prawn in the plan, but he had Ling Xiaoyi behind him. As Ling Xiaoyi was one of his most capable assistants, Hong Dali would definitely help Ling Xiaoyi. In this aspect, the opposition had obviously done their research.

But the main question was: Who was the mastermind? It was too hard to guess as the field was too wide.

As Hong Dali thought up to here, Ling Mufeng’s body started to tremble uncontrollably. At first, there were only faint symptoms, but it didn’t take long before his whole body became unstable. He started to take in deep breaths of air, and his lips trembled soon after. Even his eyes turned dull.

It was “Blue Fantasy’s” effects. It was starting to kick in again.

“Dali, what should we do?!” After seeing this, Tang Muxin also guessed that it was due to drug addiction. She said in a hurry, “Dali, quickly think about what to do!”

Ling Xiaoyi had long cried till her clothes were full of tears. She felt that her heart was torn when she saw her brother end up in such a state.

Hong Dali narrowed his eyes and stood in front of Ling Mufeng. He carefully observed his reaction before saying, “You guys take a look at how this thing looks like. Make sure that I do not find any of you taking in such things. If I were to catch anyone doing drugs, don’t blame me for not being polite.”

When everyone saw how the usually happy-go-lucky Hong Dali became so stern, the atmosphere in the room immediately became oppressive.

Looking at the current Ling Mufeng, Hong Dali’s heart also felt awkward. When he was on Earth, he had a close friend in college. However, that friend of his became addicted to a drug called “Ice” and, in less than a year, became as thin as a bamboo. Even his appearance became ghost-like. After Hong Dali thought about it, he started to shiver. Thus, he hated such a thing to his bones.

“It’s… it’s so uncomfortable…” Ling Mufeng squatted down, with drops of sweat dripping down from his forehead. His mouth kept muttering a few messy words that no one could understand.

In the beginning, he was able to restrain himself. But soon, Ling Mufeng began to twitch and tremble, and even his eyeballs started to flip around. As if he were experiencing a nightmare, he started muttering, “Pill… give me the pill…”

At this time, Ling Mufeng was starting to lose consciousness. He started to behave like a blind fly in the room. He would grab and throw anything he saw. He felt dizzy, hot, and had difficulty breathing. He felt as if he were a living ghost.

Ling Xiaoyi covered her mouth with her hands and crying uncontrollably.

The others couldn’t even bear to look straight at him.

At this time, Ling Mufeng had almost lost his mind. He grabbed Hong Dali’s clothes and shouted, “Give me the pill! Give me the pill!” Seeing him attack Hong Dali, the three male lackeys immediately rushed forward and pulled him away.

Hong Dali suddenly stepped forward and grabbed Ling Mufeng’s collar. He shook him twice and asked, “Do you still remember your name?”

“Ling… Ling Mufeng…”

Hong vigorously snorted and said loudly, “Do you want to change back to a normal person in the future, or do you want to live on this thing for the rest of your life? Answer me! Ling Mufeng, answer me!”

Ling Mufeng’s face was full of tears and said, crying, “I want to be a normal person, I want to be a normal person.”
