For some reason, Xu Moyan’s cols gaze made Tao Tingshan feel a little guilty. She maintained her sneer, but inwardly she cowered.

“I don’t care if you believe me or not, but we weren’t together yet at the time. We were just friends, and he came to look for me because of something else. I hid it from you guys because his position is special, so even if I told you we were friends, you probably wouldn’t believe me, and you’d probably think there was something between us anyway. I didn’t say it because I wanted to avoid any unnecessary misunderstandings. If it made you unhappy…” Xu Moyan paused and looked at Tao Tingshan.

Tao Tingshan thought that she would apologize, but to her surprise, Xu Moyan continued, “I won’t apologize to you either. Who I date, how I date him, and when I started dating him, all of that is none of your business. I don’t have to explain anything to you.”

Tao Tingshan’s face turned red from Xu Moyan’s retort, and her expression was frustrated and ashamed, mixed with jealousy and hatred. As a result, she looked especially twisted.

She wanted to act hurt, but her jealousy took over. Her ugly and vicious expression somehow also looked comedic now, and the colleagues around her wanted to laugh.

Those who were further away had a little less self-restraint, so they burst out laughing with a pfft.

This was the last straw for Tao Tingshan. She sobbed and covered her face, running away.

This time, however, no one gave chase.

There would often be small conflicts in the workplace, and someone might be unhappy with someone else. It could be because of unfair treatment at work or dislike for a particular person’s principles or personality.

Still, no one would openly express this dislike, and after the incident had passed, they would remain as friendly colleagues. What Tao Tingshan was doing here, openly instigating a conflict, was already breaking all the unspoken rules.

Besides, there was nothing wrong with what Xu Moyan was saying. They were asking her out of curiosity and their desire for gossip, so Xu Moyan would give them a reply every so often, precisely because they were her colleagues. Nevertheless, she did not have any obligation to tell them every detail about her love life.

Furthermore, Tao Tingshan sounded like she was practically interrogating her. What right did she have to demand that information?

The other colleagues did not think that Xu Moyan was hostile against them. After all, before Tao Tingshan said that, Xu Moyan was acting perfectly friendly.

That was why they did not mind, either. Big Sis Zhou patted her shoulder. “It’s fine. She’s just jealous, so you can just ignore her.”

After that, no one asked about Xu Moyan’s relationship with Wei Zilin anymore.

As for Tao Tingshan, perhaps it was because no one ran after her this time and she grew bored of the whole charade. After a while, she returned, red-eyed, but no one gave her so much as a glance.

When working hours ended, Xu Moyan was no longer as nervous as she had been yesterday.

When Wei Zilin came to pick her up, she could face them boldly too. While her colleagues were still curious, there was no harm done.

Wei Zilin brought Xu Moyan back home first so she could pack a few things. Zheng Yuntong had gone on a date with Shen Zongyi, so she was not at home.

Since they had already asked Aunty Liu to prepare the ingredients and leave them at home that morning, Xu Moyan did not stay at her home with Wei Zilin.

After she quickly packed a few sets of clothing, the two of them returned to Wei Yang Garden together.

That night, Xu Moyan’s dubbing session went much more smoothly, and she managed to record a few more lines than she had last night. However, since they knew each other so well, neither of them mentioned her going home after that.

They only recorded lines until 10 pm, after which Wei Zilin stopped Xu Moyan from continuing further.

“It’s getting late, we can continue tomorrow. This is just a favor for Jingheng, so you shouldn’t tire yourself out over it.” Wei Zilin moved to take the headphones down from over her ears.

“We recorded until 12 yesterday,” Xu Moyan said instinctively.

As soon as she said that, she paused and noticed something amiss.
